Default Why does food intake shorten the effects of drugs?

Every time I get baked and cram down some munchies, I end up being as sober as a nun in no time at all.

I notice the same thing whenever I take any drug.

Is it just food that fucks up the high, or will any solid/liquid fuck it up? Why?

I hear people say that all the time about weed, and i've never really noticed it. I get really tired it I ate too much, and really energetic if I ate just enough, but stoned none the less.

a logical explanation would be that when you eat, you're diverting more blood flow towards your stomach. This would decrease blood flow to your brain, possibly lowering brain activity...

or it's just in your head. I never felt less high when i ate until other ppl started saying they did. Now it's like a plague and it keeps happening to me...

It's much more noticeable when you're on opiates/opioids. You come down earlier than usual and the comedown is really fast.
