Why is it that in america you guys use aspirin but we use paracetamol in the UK?

We still use aspirin here but its no where near as popular as paracetamol as it is in the US.

What are you talking about? We use Paracetamol all the time. Here in the US it's called acetaminophen, and is often abbreviated as APAP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetaminophen). The most known/best selling "brand" of acetaminophen here in the US is called Tylenol. I assume aspirin is still used (most people who have heart conditions use it as preventive medicine), but I see more people choose Tylenol or Advil (ibuprofen, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibuprofen)
