You could figure out the density of meth HCl and find the exact voulume of .25 grams but i doubt this will help you. The easiest way would be to find something with a similar molecular weight and weigh out .25 grams of that.

Compare the volume of, say, 1g of water and 1g of methanol. Both have the same molecular mass (about - 33 vs. 32 amu), but the methanol takes up more space.

OR Keep adding bumps until .5 and eye fuck it in half. Make sure each pile is at least .2, but not .3.
