Thumbs up No Country for Old Men

Simply the greatest movie for god nows how long. Easily one of the best of the past 10 years and ranks up there in my top 100. Fucking superb.

I too love this movie. But the ending left me hanging. I heard it was based on a book. Maybe the book's ending was better. That aside, great movie. I hope it wins an oscar.

Peace.

It was based off a book. Completely off the book just about.

The last few pages went exactly how the ending did.

"Then I woke up."

I didn't like it all that much. It was okay, but nothing special. The end seemed to be a bit of a mess, and some of the characters seemed pointless. Like Woody Harrelson's character, why was he even in the film?

I thought it was absolutely amazing. The dialogue, settings and acting were all perfect. Great, especially on the part of Javier Bardem. I didn't think the ending was bad at all. Really gives the sense of how good doesn't always win.

It's what the Coens always do with their films. The scatter the landscape with small, interesting, quirky characters that often don't lend themselves to the plot. They jsut brighten the dialogue and plot. For me Harrelson was great.

woody was a bounty hunter hired by the corp. who did the drug deal, and he was hired to get the money back.

This movie would be just another blockbuster without the end(with slightly better directing/shooting). The end is necessary for the point of the movie to work.

How is the end necessary? I see it as a point where the characters and the audience realize (since time is running out of the movie, and it would take a deus ex machina to have the good guys win) that good guys don't always win.
