Ok, having said that....:D....

I finally sold my Jeep and truck and was ready to buy another disposable car since I only had $800. But I had one of those way lucky finds that you usually only hear happen to other people.

The night before I was going to go looking for a car, someone parked a 1967 Valiant right in front of my apartment complex.

It is a 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet with a 225 slant 6 in it. It basically had only one owner - an old lady. It has only 97,000 miles on it and it it almost mint condition [she kept it in a garage]. It even has all the original hubcaps, the radio works and is a tube amp and the license plate is the old black and yellow CA one - it even has the owners manual in the original plastic and in pristine condition]. They were asking $900, I said I had only $800 and I got it for the $800.

Just thought I'd share that with someone....

I did, in fact, post this in Gearheads when I first got the car, because I knew the people there would appreciate it more there.

But I also posted it here, because there are a lot people here who will never go to that forum, who would be interested in this. That's why it's off topic and I even said so so that people could see that and not click the thread if they didn't want to.

And I know that others might like to share such off topic shit too. But it is not something regulars can do. That's not fair you say? Dists are fine AFAIK, you just have to do proper maintenance, and make sure you can get spare parts like that nylon gear thing and the contacts. Variable advance is nice though.
