What do you make of Ledgers death?
So word just got out that heath Ledgers died of an accidental "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," and according to the family none of the doses where any higher than prescribed. Even then, I would think this cocktail wouldnt kill you, short of passing out on your face and suffocating in a pillow or alternatively on your own vomit ala Hendrix.
Just a little curious on what people have to say considering quite a few people here partake in some of these drugs (me included).

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
I just dont get why people force themselves into giving a shit. That does sound like a nice cocktail though but what man needs that much benzo's and opiates in his blood. What was he a manic depressive in a body cast for the last 6 months of his life

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
I'll never get these celebrities - they have everything they could wish for, but still they have to take all sorts of shit. Anti anxiety drugs? Oxycontin? How the fuck did he get oxycontin prescribed to him, unless he had something like a broken leg or w/e the fuck.
Goddamn.
I said god damn!

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
... I think you missed the point, or rather the question I had in reference to his death. I dont give a shit if he's a celebrity or not, yet I do find it interesting that someone would take these drugs and kick the bucket.
Fuck, for a forum that is dedicated to talk about drugs Id think there would be some interest when the subject of someone dieing from them (these specifically) is on the news.

Yeah, except for the fact that it's common knowledge that the media, as well as the police lie, and hide details in order to present a certain image. Especially when someone famous is involved.

Couldn't agree more but is it possible that the combined effects of all these benzo's and oxycodone could have caused respiratory arrest??

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
I heard, his death is bei9ng investigated since supposedly his girlfriend (one of the Olsen twins
) found him and instead of calling the cops right away, she called one of her friends or someone, so they think there may be some foul play involved becuase who the hell does'nt call 911 right away when they see someone dying on the floor
Oh well i think he was a shitty actor anyway..

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
she obviously didnt call cuz of the drugs and she probably knew something about the source...
i bet you his tolerance to all these drugs was through the roof....
i mean my dad was on oxy, clonzepam, temazepam in high amounts and he never died...but his tolerance was still dangerously high to where i watched him sleep seemingly struggling for every breathe of air.

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
All it takes is one mistake, although its hard to pull, but if you were taking that kind of mix like him i could see you rolling dice with your life.
Ive never had any complications from benzos, worse ive ever seen is a blacked out memory of the night before. And this is at high doses like 6-10 times the normal therapeutic dose.
Off the opiates, oxy ive done alot, drove home straight murdered in busy 5 oclock traffic, with pinhole pupils.

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
The question wasn't "What do you think of Heath Ledger?" It was "Do you think that he was actually taking the proper doses and this led to his death?"
No, I DON'T believe he was taking the doses he was prescribed, and also, WHY THE FUCK WAS HE PRESCRIBED THESE DRUGS?
It's pretty obvious to me that he wasn't in any pain to require the prescription of oxycodone and hydrocodone...

Umm, said Olsen twin was in California when it happened. However: the masseuse found him and then called Olsen, which I admit is sort of shady. Why the hell would you call her? She can't get him breathing again!
I agree with what's been said: it was probably a polite courtesy that they said he was within therapeutic levels, but who knows, taking all that shit at the same time while you possibly have walking pneumonia could kill you. I don't think anyone here is an MD (save absolutecaliber).

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
I never used to believe in all that paranoid hippy shit, but now that I think about it, I am SERIOUSLY convinced that this is a conspiracy set up by the government.
Didn't anybody find it odd how they wouldn't specify the amount? This is the sort of thing that creates fear and panic throughout the public, and the fact that everything they listed was recreational is also pretty scary to me.
How suspicious is it that they were originally making his death out to be something completely innocent and non-drug-related? I don't know, but I'm starting to see things like this a whole lot more often now.

Re: What do you make of Ledgers death?
I was looking at a list of recorded deaths in north america... it was a scare tactic for tobacco no doubt, but it also had a section for people that had died from complications with their prescribed drugs... the number of people dead per year was sickening! This shit happens all the time, and it is sad that this guys death is being made out to look like a junky nightmare... because I honestly don't think it was.
Also, I noticed that there was a press release saying clearly that AMBIEN!!!!!!!! was found near him and could have resulted in his death!
I swear to god, a few hours later, there was another release taking back the statements about ambien, almost as if some big wigs at ambien called up some news channels etc. to keep their name away from the death... the brand name found was then changed to Lunesta (most likely a rival company due to the fact that they each sell sleep aids)
And I feel sorry for his daughter and wife.
That is how I feel about his death.

I really don't give a flying fuck. I didn't know him. I don't give a shit when strangers die. Celebrities are overrated.
