Dxm tolerance
I've tried DXM 5-6 times, and I will go over a few of the times as there have been some pretty weird things that have happened.
First time I tried it, it was fairly awesome, I took maybe 400mg, and hit maybe 3rd plateau, even from such a small dose. Next day I took another 400mg, only got to around the first or second, which is usually expected dosing so close together. (Both of these were taken through syrup)
After this time, I had what I guess is known as an afterglow for almost an entire week. I was completly out of it, dizzy, blured vision, I would wake up and the walls would be spinning, this continued with the same severity until one day I woke up and was completly fine, no tapering of the symptoms, just an end.
Does anyone know what caused this? It happens quite frequently. Its recommended that you dont have anything planned for the next day, for me it seems to be the next 3-4 days.
Maybe two months later I decided I wanted to hit the 4th plateau so I took 1200mg via gellcaps, non extended release, dxm only gelcaps. I didn't think I would be able to keep down that much syrup is why I chose gelcaps. But, this time completly sucked. Didn't trip at all, my vision just got all fucked up, got dizzy. I took a shower with the lights off, its fun for me usually, but there was nothing. No hallucinations, no musical euphoria, nothing. It basically felt like the afterglow period of a week, yet it was only the durration of the trip.
Anyone know why this is? It seems the gelcaps were the reason it sucked completly, although I have no idea why that would be. It doesn't make sense.
6 months later I took 600mg, had a good time, syrup again.
Woke up the next day with a little bit of the dizzy/blurry/out of it ness, but was mainly okay. I could actually function this time, and it only lasted a day as it is supposed to.
Two weeks after this I thought maybe my dosage wasnt high enough to hit the 4th plateau when I took the capsules, so I bumped it up to 1900mg. Again, horrible. Huge waste of time, just got the same afterglow type trip which wasn't even mildly entertaining, just annoying. It seems like the gelcaps don't work for me, but I honestly don't know any reason why that would be true.
Okay my main points to be gotten from that retarded sounding essay are as follows.
Does anyone have an idea on why the hangover/afterglow lasts so much longer in me than in other people.
Does anyone have any idea why attempting to hit higher dosages off gelcaps failed miserably. I thought maybe it was tolerance, and If i wait roughly a year and down 1600mg or so hopefully all tolerance will be gone?
But it doesn't make sense why the first time I tried it I was able to trip twice within 48 hours, and the caps dont do anything even after a 6 month break. Although the one was only two weeks, it was still longer than a day.
Could it possibly be the capsules? If it may be so does anyone have an explanation on why they dont work, or another way I could take over 1.5 grams that isn't syrup?
I apologize for the horrible flow of the above text, and if it didn't make much sense at all. I'm rather sleepy and thought I would throw this out there before I went to bed.
