Psychedelics and weed are pretty much the only drugs I do for said reasons. I dont do coke because I love it, and ever so often when I can find some good priced OC I'll rail some.

There are very strong reasons for doing hallucinogens (to some people) like introspective thought/repair. Some people just like the pretty colors.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing anything, from escaping their problems to becoming more social. All that really matters is that you do it in an intelligent way, so you don't give yourself or the drugs an even worse rap than to begin with. As long as you know why your doing the drugs your doing, nothing else really matters.

Actually, i've never done meth, i was just joking.

For shrooms and LSD is it learning more about other people and yourself. Especially in the perfect setting, I don't really think there is any other experience in life better than a real nice shroom trip or an acid trip.

At first, I'd say it's curiousity for most everyone. Afterwards, however, your use is predominately social, habituation/addiction (not the same thing), escape from problems, for a particular state of mind for a particular reason (relaxation, test-readiness, pain, induce sleep, etc.), and religious. In fact, for nearly everyone their use of a particular drug is tied into predominately one of these reasons, though your use of any drug at all probably spans all of the reasons.
