Entheogen [and other] reviews
I'd like to hear about your experiences with different botanicals. I'm not talking about "legal alternatives", I mean different plants and herbs that have [or are said to have] psychoactive properties. Any you've shown enough interest in to actually try.
I'll start. I've had a shitload of different ones, I'll try to remember them all..
Amanitas - I've never personally tried them, but friends have and didn't get much effects from them. However, they were a low grade, so I'm assuming that could be a major factor in that. I'd like to try a high grade at some point.
Betel Nut - I got a few packs of the "chew" from IAS a while back. I didn't get any effects from them, but they do have a pleasant taste. I imagine a lot more might have SOME effect..
HBWR - Tried a few times, all bunk. I have some more I'm waiting to get from a friend, very hopeful about this time.
Calea [Dream Herb] - Ordering some very soon, heard it works quite well. I'd like to hear experiences about this one, and the other "dream herbs", silene capensis and entada rheedii.
Kava - Excellent for relaxating.
Kratom - Very opioid-ish. My only experience was when I got some free from a promotion on the internet. I took more than I should have, and wound up very sick the next day. But I'd do it again in a smaller dose. Or maybe an extract. Very strong compared to what I thought it would be like.
Blue Lotus - Got a gram of 10x for free from IAS. Tried smoking it [should've made a tea]. Didn't get much from it, but now I know tea is a better way to take Lotus. Would try again the right way.
Salvia - I don't really need to put this one down, it's too popular to share any new info. Very effective, trippy as fuck.
Kanna - Burns like FUCK when insufflating. Definitely felt something, but the pain overpowered it. I don't want to try it again.
Valerian root - Good for sleeping.
Damiana - Good in tea, bad to smoke. Didn't get effects either way.
There's a million others, I want to hear personal experiences, recommendations, whatever you want to share! :)

Re: Entheogen [and other] reviews
I recently had a somewhat bad experience consuming HBWR seeds.
a friend and i each ate some potent seeds from BBB, i had 5, or 6, and my friend had 7. my friend had a horrible experience, he said he "felt like he was dying". we both experience alot of vasoconstriction, which really sucked, and it was difficult to get comfortable, or stay in one position long, it really sucked. we also even smoked weed throughout.

How about let stupid kids fuck themselves up from not researching, and then they'll learn a valuable lesson sooner rather than later.

No, that would be more fuel for the War Against Drugs.

Whether drugs are legal or not, and whether there's a war on drugs or not, people are going to do drugs.
What does it matter how much ammunition the government has for it's propaganda? It'll never stop them from being circulated.
And how the hell is any kid going to fuck himself up THAT bad on an ethnobotanical? Worst case, they get sick from it.
And another thing, the war on drugs concentrates on drugs the government hasn't overlooked. If they tried using that to scare people off, someone could just as easily point out the legality of said ethnobotanicals.

Which would get it criminalized...

It only takes one idiot to tell his mom what made him sick, who then bitches to the police/media/blahblahbullshit about how it fucked her kid up, and then it's banned. Just like Salvia. A few years ago no one knew WTF is was until idiots like yourself familiarized every dipshit with it. If you still aren't catching my drift yet, lemme just say that the people who are smart enough to use entheogens don't need your dumbass to tell them whats good and whats not.

Yes. The DEA knows about entheogens. Don't think you're smarter than them. Their number one source of drug statistics comes from... guess what?
It comes from internet forums just like these where idiots go and brag about their drug use. They know about these things, and they are EAGER to ban them in a heartbeat. They are just waiting for some idiot to fuck up so they can deprive the rest of us.

I agree with you mostly. I think it's a good/refreshing idea for a thread, but this is just putting a banner up over this shit so any little retard can figure it out, tell his friends and they'll all go out and fuck it up, like Pickwick did for totse with that oh so sweet Jenkem. Most of the ones that fit that description don't read every posts. Just the blatant ones about DXM, Weed, or some troll's ATTN: thread.

Re: Entheogen [and other] reviews
How many kids have fucked themselves up on DXM? And it's STILL legal.
No one is going to ban Lotus because it sedates you a LITTLE bit. No one is going to ban Betel Nut because it has stimulant properties. The government could give a fuck about entheogens. They have enough on their plate with all of the shit that's out there today. Fuck, a lot of RCs aren't even scheduled yet.
As for salvia, it's not even really something someone is going to go out of their way to get unless they haven't done it already. Most entheogens aren't a big enough deal to illegalize. It's a whole lot of shit they have to go through, and most of them are worthless for recreational use anyways.
It doesn't take a genius IQ to read a little on erowid, which is inevitable to anyone reading on BLTC anyways....

Um, true, but i'll bet I can hit back on my browser and find you a thread where looking at erowid would easily answer the OP's question, they may know there is an erowid but they don't use it unless it's about (as I said) DXM, Weed or when they are told to GTFO and goto erowid. If not out of worry for it being nationally noticed, out of the respect for the drugs themselves. Maybe when their mellons are full of all of DXM's benefits they'll leave...apparently we're missing something. I also just want to mention Jenkem.

Can you name a chemical other than an opiate/opioid and DXM that inhibits the cough reflex? I didn't thing so...

Ever heard of the Federal Analog Act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Analog_Act)? Well, it criminalize the use of any chemical that is similar in structure and/or similar in effects (equal or greater effects) to a scheduled chemical.
I'm not arguing against information and education, I support that 100%. I am arguing against intentionally letting people get fucked up, even if it doesn't hurt them physically or psychologically.
How about let stupid kids fuck themselves up from not researching, and then they'll learn a valuable lesson sooner rather than later.

Re: Entheogen [and other] reviews
^^^
I know you said no opiates, but I think having codeine OTC would be a much better idea than DXM. They could monitor buyers the same way they monitor pseudoephedrine. Codeine can be used for rec too, but [as far as I know] doesn't have the risk of neurotoxicity that DXM does. Pairing it with APAP would discourage abuse [and help other sickness symptoms], although of course someone would still try. And lastly the purchases being monitored would keep people from buying enough to keep up a habit [of codeine].
And I know about the FAA, but I'm still saying DOx compounds are known about, many 2C-x compounds, etc etc, and they don't schedule them because it's a LOT of work, so instead they tried to cumulatively ban them. They could cumulatively ban plants, but people would isolate the alkaloids and start selling those instead until the government did something about it. None of them are worthwhile to go to jail for anyways, IMO. It's unrealistic that a post up here about plants that have been used for psychoactive purposes for hundreds [sometimes thousands] of years is going to get them all banned.
About my last quote, I didn't mean that in a terrible way [despite it sounding that way]. If a kid reads up on something and tries it to get high, he's going to have to explain THAT to his parents as well. Most kids won't go through all that [because parents flip about shit like that] unless it's something REALLY bad, which is unlikely unless they take a lot of whatever it is. Besides, I'll bet 99% or more of BLTC members have had some shitty experiences at some point in their usage of anything, which is the "valuable lesson" I'm talking about. Better to learn it with, say, salvia/amanitas/whatever than with H/meth/whatever.
Oh yeah, and besides salvia/kratom, I'd hardly call being on any of those as being "fucked up".

Re: Entheogen [and other] reviews
...
Fair enough. My point was we should try to keep people out of the ER as much as we can, especially if they aren't in danger of a OD or anything. The last thing we need is a concerned mother starting an anti-drug group in her neighborhood. That is all.

Re: Entheogen [and other] reviews
it just sounds like you made that list by looking at an anal-licking fag site like IAS.
i have had the delight to sample quite a few herbs/extracts not many people have heard about.
Most of the stuff can be bought online, or grown from seeds ordered online.
For a fact you can buy herbs and in some, out of the ones that have been identified, exist substances that are technically already banned.
Sadly i have to agree with distortion on this one.
I dont feel totse is the proper place to give out the names of these herbs.
Hell, one emo kid climbs up into a tent, and then proceeds to gas it. (suicide) The upon closer examination it reveals that the kid has, in the past, tried salvia.
Guess what happens.... already quite a few of states have banned the herb.

I used their list as a reference, yeah. What of it? I don't order from them, isn't that what matters? Ha.
