Sure it doesn't get you high, but does anyone here drink it? I'm pretty skeptical about the health benefits, as most herbal stuff is way overhyped. The whole gourd thing seems kinda neat though, I guess.

I recently ordered 100gs of loose Yerba Mate. It should be here in a couple days. I've heard good things about it and am an avid tea drinker so I figured what the hell, why not.

The only real health benefits you get from green tea and the like are anti-oxidants. It's not meant to cure cancer, and it doesn't claim to. In general though, anti-oxidants are good for you.

i have an herbal-infuser, and 1/3 from a 2.2lbs package left.
It is nice stuff...i have developed a taste to the earthy goodness.

I get my caffeine & it's analogues from coffee/regular teas/mate. I find that mate seems to irritate my stomach less than C & T. I only drink mate once or twice a week, but if I've had too much coffee it's way more mellow to drink mate. I take it straight or use honey.

I steep it about 6 > 8 mins & then decant it into a thermos.

True, and in my experience, green tea, and "earthy" teas are more of an acquired taste. Drinking straight green tea for the first time isn't as exciting as getting that first taste of Sunny D, if that makes any sense.

Yeah I drink Yerba Mate almost daily. I don't know why this is in BLTC as it is the same kind of drug as tea or coffee. But the taste of it I actually enjoy. Mix in some honey with it.

ive used the tea bags, it doesnt taste the same, watered down or something idk.
i really like the whole tradition of it i guess, and you can get some really cool bombillas, but yeah i dont even fucking know.
if you put a fuckload of sugar it isnt bad, but whatever.
