Lightbulb vaporizers
I was wondering how bad they are for you, seeing as salt only makes the bulb clear and doesnt detoxify it. Anyone have any information on this?

a gas of some sort... but if your really so concerned about it...
wash it out with a non polar substance like 90% alcohol.. to disolve the non polar molecules in it... then wash with a polar substance like water...
but im pretty sure its just a gas of some sort, the exact one doesn't come to mind though...

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for. Very helpful.

I think it's argon, but I'm not entirely sure.

Re: Lightbulb vaporizers
its one of the halogens...
tungsten is the only thing that would get deposited on the glass... the temps in that filament are something like 4000 degrees F... and as that filament doesnt just vaporize into nothing very quickly, i doubt a few hundred degrees of heating is going to vaporize any harmful amount of it...

Re: Lightbulb vaporizers
I used to use one daily and I turned out fine. I just did the salt thing. If you're worried, get a pipe or some papers or something.

Re: Lightbulb vaporizers
You all fucking fail so hard. First of all, isopropyl alcohol is polar, NOT nonpolar, what do you think the other percentage is? Magic nonpolar water? LOL.
Second of all, there are no other harmful chemicals in a lightbulb once it has been cleaned with salt, and then soap and water, and then an acetone or alcohol rinse, and allowed to dry.
The gases in the bulb are gone as soon as you break the seal, and suggesting that alcohol would get out those gases is plain retarded. Hard to extract something that isn't there.
Except jamaica, no fail for you.

I don't think anyone said anything about the gases not escaping.
I was just saying what was already inside the bulb before it was broken.

They break too easily, not to mention that without proper cleaning, you could get that white shit in your lungs. They break if they cool off too fast, they break if they're too hot, they fucking suck.
