I'm trying to figure out the best way to explain why taking Lamictal while using weed is not dangerous. Any information would be helpful.

It's generally well known (in my understanding) that weed doesn't react with other drugs, but I'm not sure chemically how to explain this. This is for a meeting with an actual psychiatrist who prescribed the Lamictal in the first place. My Mom will be there as well, who keeps trying to bring up that I smoke weed and that it could react to the Lamictal and be dangerous. She is very irrational when it comes to drugs, which is surprising, because she is usually reasonably intelligent.

Last time, my Mom brought up that I smoke weed and tried to ask about possible drug interactions. He said that he doesn't recommend it (...obviously since he can't legally...) and that it's called dope because it screws with your brain connections. He didn't elaborate though, or cite anything specific. On an unrelated note, when I was talking to my therapist in private, he said that he can't legally say that 'if it's not hurting you and it's under control, then go ahead and keep doing it' but then he gave kind of a weird pause and I knew what he meant.

This is the one site I found so far that lists only a few random related (to Lamictal) drugs that could react with Lamictal.

... that really pisses me off. This is coming from a supposedly 'well-educated' person, who has decided that his life-purpose is becoming involved in the problems of other people who can't take charge of their own life's, and help them out.
