Default booze driver

First of all I am aware that this is not the hummanities board where legal questions are answered. I am just asking since I feel it is more appropriate here, and you may have some experience with this. my question is, in the united states, if someone over 21 asks his younger sibling to drive him to the liquor store to buy something to drink, is it a problem if you are pulled over and both of you are sober, but the older of the two has alcohol? I just turned 21 and am wondering if I am going to get my younger brother or sister in trouble if they drive for me because I cant because of a mental problem? I know it is stupid, but the cops around here like to make speed traps, and will create a legal problem where one doesn't exist.

ive been in this exact experience. me being under 21 and my friend 22. the cops took the beer from us and told my friend he could go pick it up at the police station as long as he was by himself. surprisingly they gave the beer back to us.

The cop was wrong to even do that. As long as the booze is unopen and someone over 21 has possesion/control of it, then it is perfdectly legal.

And, yes, wrong forum.
