Shroom Chocolate
Is it economical/plausible to melt a known volume of chocolate and add a known amount of shroom dust from ground up dried shrooms? I want to move the product this way in little blocks of chocolate with a half-eighth (1.75g) of shrooms contained in each. This way buyers can purchase one or more, depending on the desired effects and it isn't as shady. The shroom's used will be grown hydroponically.
Will the moderate heat produced by a double-boiler (within 120 F) damage the active chemicals? My friend mentioned this idea to me because he claimed he had a friend that took shrooms like this once and it sounds like a great idea..as I said, if it's possible and economical.
Anyone heard of this? Sure beats the taste too.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
I've heard of people doing this. I'd much rather buy plain mushrooms, that way I know the amount for sure. They don't even taste that bad. People always complain about the taste but I'd much rather eat some mushrooms than take a shot of cheap whiskey.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
Sounds like a good idea, but I have no clue at what temperature the actives in shrooms break down. Maybe you can make a little stamp of some sort so you could put an imprint on the chocolate blocks. Would be cool.
Peace.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
Heh...My dad did this for his wedding. A tray for booze, and a tray for "chocolates"!
As far as I know, all you have to do is take melted (or really soft) chocolate and put mushrooms in, then freeze.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
YES its possible... although ive never made them.. I have enjoyed them... unfortunately I cant tell you an exact measurement of product/chocolate but they looked like oversized rollos (3X) and supposedly had an 1/8 in each. all i know is they were very effective. good luck

Re: Shroom Chocolate
I love shroom chocolates. I'm a little hesitant to give this to you, because the recipe calls for regular shrooms, and I think your hydrPwnic shrooms might be too ub3r pwrfull.

The fact that you said hydroponic shrooms proves that you know absolutely nothing about growing, or doing anything with, mushrooms.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to hear.
It sounds like a good idea, how much would you sell them for ?
I'm not sure. Around here people sell 3.5g of shrooms anywhere between $25 and $35 with some scumbags selling them $25 a half 1/8th. I'd figure $15 for a 1.75g piece of chocolate. Seems reasonable and I may even drop that to $10 since I'm gonna need to get rid of a lot and establish myself and my 2 accomplices as good business for all the druggies on campus.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
grease a dozen cupcake wrappers in a cupcake tin
add a bit of molten chocolate to each and swirl it around the sides as it cools so it makes a 'bowl' shape
add ground mushrooms
spoon more chocolate on top
refrigerate
decorate creatively

Re: Shroom Chocolate
Yo man, I got the dankest hydro shrooms the other day. I was trippin so fuckin hard!
Seriously, have you ever seen a fucking mushroom growing out of a lake? You don't need to be a "lame ass druggie" to know that a mushroom doesn't grow out of water. Ha, and your in college?
I take it you didn't take up cooking at all either.. how hard could it be to mix melted chocolate with shroom dust. Pfft.

Yeah, if you are growing with the PF-tek, you are looking at some REALLY big profit margins.

Re: Shroom Chocolate
in theory it's possible to grow mushrooms hydroponically in a starch solution. i have always wanted to get some floral foam, pasteurize it and inoculate with mycelia in liquid solution, and see how far i can get with it :p

Re: Shroom Chocolate
there is no benefit from growing mushrooms "hydroponically", or in a starch solution. stick to tried and true methods, and you wont fail.
