Default Evaporating Poppy Seed Tea

I've been an avid user of opiates, but after a long streak I quit when my connect fell through. I recently just found 3 full bottles of poppy seeds(about 1,700 grams in all) I must've stashed away and forgotten about. Long story short, I figured I'd make some poppy seed tea tomorrow and evaporate it down into at least a goo, bake it in the oven at low temp on wax paper and cut it into smaller pieces for personal consumption in the future.
I want to make clear I won't be smoking this, as I know it has oils and other misc. contents. This is pretty much a novelty project intended for sub lingual administration for a friend and I, and I was looking for advice, tips, etc on the best way to do this. (Not boiling the water is a given) Thanks for any help in advance.

Never heard of it done that way..but I don't do alot of research on poppies. Sounds like you may be going for a resin like substance

Here (http://www.drugs-forum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=30826) are a few different methods...yours may be in there somewhere.

Usually when trying to evaporate down to a "pod puddy" or as I refer to it poddy, you will end up with a product that's very gooey and unmanageable. It is very difficult to attempt to smoke this as it will liquefy very quickly, however it can be accomplished on some tin foil. When attempting to eat said product, you must be VERY careful. It can be difficult to ascertain a proper dosage with this method, especially since all seed batches vary wildly in content. ALSO, I wouldn't recommend eating them as Morphine has a VERY low bioavailability and it is the main active ingredient contained on the seeds. Please note that baking this in the oven to help reduce it, I believe, is also a terrible idea. Morphine is incredibly unstable in heat, even at relatively low temperatures. I would try doing a chemical extraction/reduction to get a liquid morphine. I remember seeing some time ago a tutorial on how to result a safely inject able morphine liquid for poppy pods, but perhaps not on this site. Maybe you can find it somehow if you do a lot of research.

He said he wouldn't be smoking it. Good info otherwise though.

From research I've done and sites scoured, during the process of acetylation of morphine into heroin the morphine is usually heated to 85 degrees celcius (185 F) and I plan to keep the goo in the oven at around 160 F or less. I do understand however that the resin has many more alkaloids than just morphine and in all probability vary in the temperature in which they begin to break down, but morphine is the star of the show. I've also taken into account that evaporating it makes it significantly more concentrated and will be starting out with small doses, approximately the size of a match head and working my way up. I found the poppy biscuits preparation guide on erowid, and although it's different it's basically the same concept. Thanks for the helpful and quick replies.

I know he did. But I like to try to be as informative as possible, you never know when that little bit of info will be key. Besides, people using the search engine in the future looking for info on this topic will be able to see this title and assume there will be good info on the topic, and now there will be :)

Unfortunate but true... :/ I try to be as useful as possible. I'm currently in the process of writing several books on the subject of drugs, drug use, and the drug culture. I've spent the last 6 years doing as much research as humanly possible, and have been addicted to, or at the very least tried, pretty much everything you can imagine. I take time out of my busy schedule to try to help in the efforts of harm and ignorance reduction on this site and others. The only things that makes me upset is when people refuse to listen, or don't believe what I'm saying to be true, OR argue with me and claim they're right, when they clearly aren't... It's sad, but this site is one viewed VERY often by many addicts, and yet has some of the worst information and least informed users of all the forums in existence. I wish more people would open their minds and shut their mouths when the only thing they have to contribute is, "Your a sutpid ass bizotch!!!1!" The youth of this world...

Great Success!

I did 4-5 extractions using cold water, as to not get much poppy seed oil in there, thus a purer product. I used a pot instead of a shallow pan, because of the volume of water to evaporate and the fact that it needed to be stirred regularly. I kept the overall temperature of the water at a nice 75-80 degrees celcius using one of these:

They're super neato. Anyway, if you don't have one, just keep it steaming without boiling and give it a good stir when you see crap forming on the top or layers starting to form.
After 3 hours it was nearly ready, and so I scraped up what I could with a spoon and plopped it on aluminum foil which i placed on top of a cookie sheet at 150-160 F in the oven for 10 or so minutes. It's important not to over dry, but have a nice manageable sludge. In the meantime i used a smaller spoon to scrape up the rest, like the sides and scraps I missed, which didn't look like much in the pot, but was quite a bit once removed.
When the sludge was ready, I scraped what I could off the aluminium foil and placed that on a piece of wax paper along with the other scraps. The result?

While it doesn't look like the mona lisa, it sure does what it's supposed to do. I had 3 small chunks, about the size of a head on a matchstick each and I was comfortably fading in and out of consciousness. Anyway I wrote this up because I was in the mood :D and figured someone else would like to try. I'm definitely satisfied with the results, and would repeat the process.

Where do you live? I have yet to live somewhere where I can find poppies sold in stores. Or did you buy online?

I do believe I bought the poppy seeds at Gordon Food Service, conveniently a few blocks away from my home. Buying more than 1.5 kilos of poppy seeds at a time earned me some nasty condescending looks, though. Oh, and I forgot to mention, it is indeed smokable, but adding a few drops of water on top really helps. I smoked what i couldn't scrape off the aluminium foil, and I'm pleased. I live in the suburbs of chicago in palatine. Nice little place. Not too interesting but has more than enough people and places to keep me busy.

Just out of curiosity...because I've been meaning to do this too.

what is your tolerance like? I can snort two green OC 80's and still function normally(aside from the nose scratching). would it be worthwhile for me to attempt?

Honestly, if you have a large tolerance, you would need to do a lot of work and evaporating and I don't think it would be worth the effort. If you're trying to wean yourself off opiates and don't want to drink the tea, I could see this method becoming useful. I have a small tolerance at this moment. In the heyday of my opiate use I popped an oc40 every few days for about a month and before I could up my dose to 60mg my guy ran out. This is where the poppy seeds came in to ease the withdrawals, which compared to people REALLY dependent on opiates, were mild. Working with those tiny ass poppy seeds is a bitch, and waiting for a few liters of water to evaporate away while stirring can be a little time consuming. If you have the resources and patience I don't see why you shouldn't try at least once.

I let my friend who has virtually no experience with opiates lick the spoon i used to mix the concoction (there was very little of anything on it) and he ended up nodding out on my couch.
