I know this may seem pointless to post this in BLTC, but i really feel you guys need to hear this.

Today i found out that my friend, who was two months away from graduating high school, was found dead this morning.

The cause of death was a methadone overdose.

This is a kid who has been around drugs all of his life and wasn't your run-of-the-mill drug user.

He attempted to call his girlfriend at 1:00 in the morning last night and she hung up on him twice, thinking he was just fucking around. He was attempting to call her for help and she said that he wanted her to come over. She thought that he was just high and hung up.

At 5:30 this morning his little brother found his body, as the police said, 'unresponsive'.

I know most of you guys are well-versed in your drug use but please, don't let a friend try something like opiates or prescription pills alone, make sure that they know they can call you if they need help or stay there with them to help them out if they ask.

Also, please try not to mess around with drugs that you're not familiar with...this is really sad guys, i pray that this fate never befalls any of you...

just be careful, and please, if you're going to fuck around with dangerous drugs let a close friend know that you might need their help...

Obviously I don't know the whole story, so maybe there's something I don't know, but I think this serves as another reminder to say that if you think you're seriously OD'ing or that you friend is OD'ing call a fucking ambulance or get another person there with you to make sure you're still alive.

Well... Technically no matter how you die your heart will stop. But... The drugs didn't stop his heart and kill him; they most assuredly caused respiratory failure, which then killed him. Sorry for your loss.

Two shots fired by a security guard while he was trying to get away during a beer run... The security guard must have really wanted him job because... damn... What's that like... 20 bucks worth of beer? It's a weird, fucked up world we live in. Only because of all the shitty humans though. If any of you have ever watched the Planet Earth series in HD you'll know what I'm talking about when I say, the world we live on is wonderful, the world we live in is terrible.
EDIT: Oh, also a little P.S. No one should attempt to abuse Methadone... IT's a terribly stupid drug. Even if you do get a good dose you're not going to get the euphoria you'd get from most other drugs. Not to mention the long half-life and time spent in the blood stream are only going to make you more likely to OD, and once you become physical dependant, withdrawal for longer.

I know all about opioid tolerance my friend. At one point it took 3 OC 80s a day just so I didn't get sick. So... I know what you're talking about, and methadone is still shit. If you plan on using an opioid to stop your opioid addiction, the ONLY substance I would really recommend is Suboxone (Yes, Suboxone not Subutex) It works wonders and is much better then Methadone. However, I personally kicked my habit with a bottle of 20 Vicodin 5s, plenty of time, a trash can, and a lot of pot.

I'm afraid this warning is just going to fall on deaf ears. Kids his age - and the age of most here - think they know it all and that they are indestructible.

If I had a dime for every time I've heard someone says that they know what they're doing and that they won't get hooked to heroin - or other opiates.

I too came incredibly close once... I was totally new to opiates, and was coming down from a 3 day blow binge. The sun was coming up and I had just run out of blow, but my dealer game me a morphine pills to try. I had never taken them before, but he said it would get me fucked up if I took it. I decided I liked how quick things kicked in when I snorted then (back then, now I hate snorting anything... and blow) so I crushed it up and snorted some. I waited 2 - 3 impatient minutes, didn't feel anything and snorted more. I waited another few minutes and was like, "What the fuck, this shit fucking sucks." So I snorted the rest thinking it was very week... (Oh, also I had been giving a "Morphine patch" to try out as well... Which now I realize was either nothing or Fentanyl. But in any case I put that on for like half an hour, and then took it off and tossed it because I didn't feel anything shortly before I blew that pill.) After I had finished snorting the pill I didn't feel anything noticeable yet still, so said, this shit is lame, and went to take a shower. That's the last thing I remember before my brother was waking me up from unconsciousness. I was sitting completely naked in a chair in the "game room" of the house.
It had been more than an hour since I'd gotten in the shower and I had just been staring at the pool table the whole time... Overdosing on opiates/opioids is scary shit... I don't even see why people go for the nod, that's one step away from an overdose, and that's too close for my comfort. Not to mention I don't think it's enjoyable to nod... How do you function in daily life like that? Why not just take some, feel enjoyable and euphoric, and then be able to function in normal, daily, socially acceptable, life and work and earn money to buy more?

My heart started having problems twice on that shit. I will never touch it again. Sort of a karma thing though. I jacked my uncles methadone pills, and my heart almost failed twice while trying to use them. See what happens. Dont steal pills.

Sorry OP for your lost, i remember either 5 or 6 years ago when i was a freshman in high school and one of my best friends died, they announced it on the morning announcements and people were crying and shit that didn't even know him and that pissed me off so bad cuz i know he would have been like what the fuck you dont even know me. he died of methadone and drinking booze is mom found him and he was dead.

To be completely honest, I'm more worried about his brother. I was always better friends with his brother, and he has a bit a substance abuse problem... But to make things worse, he takes family issues pretty fucking hard... A year or so ago his sister caught an STD from some fuck who took advantage of her while she was drunk and disappeared; he spent the next 3 - 4 months so fucked up I was afraid everyday I'd wake up to hear he'd ODd and died. He already has a pretty big Oxy habit; again. I'll send you an e-mail, tell you a little more about it.
