Dealing with butane
I don't feel like doing a butane extraction in a well ventilated area (because there are none in my house) and I don't feel like going outside because its snowing and windy. I am aware that butane is a toxic gas but it is also denser than air, causing it to sink to the floor. I was wondering, would it be possible to do the extraction in the huge sink in my basement and just let the butane go down the drain? Would the butane go down the drain? Am I just never going to wake up after this?
Thank you for your consideration and input.

Re: Dealing with butane
No no. The butane contains all of the precious THC. If you did it in the sink, 2 things will happen. Some of it will go down the drain, and some of it will boil and evaporate, leaving you a layer of (now nasty) honey oil on your basement sink. You must collect the butane in some sort of glass dish, something flat that will allow you to scrape it later.
If you don't want to deal with butane vapors, you can always do an iso alcohol wash. Less smelly/messy, but less pure; still a high grade product if done right IMO. Look it up on Google.
Peace.

Re: Dealing with butane
there is a water trap on the sink... its just a place for water to sit so that the toxic gases dont build up and come out of the sink and into your home.. its going to work the other way around...
put a window fan in your window so that its blowing outside... set up a table next to the fan...
do this in front of the fan...
ground yourself so no static sparks....
i have done BHO on a very small scale in my bedroom without blowing myself up...

Re: Dealing with butane
Thank you doc but I'm already aware of how a butane extraction works, I just needed a change of scenery. I'm not going to let the liquid butane go down the sink, I just needed a place for it to evaporate without blowing myself up or killing myself because I sleep on the floor in the basement.

Re: Dealing with butane
I don't have any fans powerful enough to create any sort of pressure in the house. My computer fans are all I have. The wind seems to always blow in from the window no matter what, I can't imagine why.
There is somekind of drain hole in the middle of the floor. Would any gasses that escaped from the sink just go down there?

Sorry about that. You said butane and I guess you meant the butane vapor. Personally, I wouldn't do this without proper ventilation. Hope you get some good honey soon.
Peace.
