When do you know you're addicted to heroin? I mean, for those of you that are or have been, what where the first signs you knew you were fucked? Just curious...

I havent been addicted to opiates, but my guess is your mentally addicted when begin to base your life around them, and doing things that have negative consequences to get them. And you are physically addicted when you get dope sick.

You know your addicted (to opiates) when fixing is more important than eating, sleeping. fucking, etc... and you don't even fucking care.

Addiction is when you need the drug to function in life. If you hurt so bad you can't get out of bed without a dose, you are addicted, or seriously fucked up (pain wise, like an injury). Odds are, since it's heroin though, no pain. Most junkies are not chronic pain patients.


But the first sign of addiction is thinking you might be addicted. Period.

But I'm broke but I'm willing to do anything for money. I'm going car hopping tonight, but I even considered robbing old people just for a bag.

If you think I'm a troll, you haven't been here very long. I've been talking about wanting to do heroin for the past 3 years, and finally found it about a month ago. I know I'll regret it later in life, but to be honest, I don't plan on living long enough for it to be a major concern. Life's pretty much over after 21 anyways.

You found it a month ago??? I did herron and other opiates for almost 2 years before I took the "real" plunge. And by took the plunge I don't even mean I shot up, I just started abusing heavy. But you shot too! Well that puts you ahead doesn't it? Or does it put you behind?

I was 15 when I did my first bag. I was 16 when I realized that I was in love with opiates. I was 17 when I started to consistently get/do opiates. I was 18 when I could honestly say I was Addicted. Since then (I'm 20 now) I have kicked thrice, been to jail, essentially stalled my 'real' life.... and my problem has gotten about three times worse and I am currently a SAD SACK.

Right now I'm no further along than taking my suboxone, drinking and eating valuum, waiting for my next opportunity to hustle up a couple bundles and shoot another couple days away. I don't plan to stay this way forever.... but best laid plans as the saying goes......

To me that video only helps prove that drugs need to be decriminalized, regulated, taxed, and restricted. If they did they, made people meet criteria and get a license to get it, then regulated how much a person could get with heavy taxing... Well, things would be a lot safer. Not to mention they could stop spending billions upon billions per year trying to stop drugs (which will never happen) and start making billions upon billions in taxes. ALSO, many places in Europe (and elsewhere) have started programs where the government pays for junkies to go and safely do clean, pure, heroin, safely injected by doctors in a safe and clean area, and not only has crime rate in those areas gone down something like 68% but also people aren't overdosing as much, or getting abscesses, or damaging their body with unnecessary bullshit, etc. I don't see how experiments like this don't prove that decriminalization is the only real option long term...
