Default Should have settled for second best.

Lately in my life I can't seem to shake the feeling that over the past year I've made some dumbfuuck decisions. Especially when it comes to sex and affection.

I can't seem to shake the feeling that a fear of "settling for second best" has actually deterred me from settling with something very, very good.

I can't seem to shake the feeling that my overall lazy approach in life is going to have some reproductions. Repocusions I can smell waiting around the corner.

Its really rather depressing when you see people get over you. When you realise that the option of settling for second best isn't even there anymore. Leaving you with actually nothing at all.

The generic recommendation to any man who has romantic issues applies here. That is, get hammered and fuck some slut to forget about it.

i can relate. i had this really good friend and we used to have a lot of fun together. then one day i figured out she liked me, and for some reason i didnt just go with it. we dont talk much anymore and it really is kind of depressing to think about "what couldve been" and all the good times we used to have. pretty shitty feeling actually lol

Well, that's the lessons you learn and the time you go through sometimes. Learn to take the chance/opportunity next time, that's about it.

Learn from your mistakes. Really listen to this statement. Really.

Depends what second best is in the situation at hand, my friend.

I had the chance to get with a girl who is hot. I mean fucking-model-hot!
I chose a girl who is gorgeous.

A couple people said "What the fuck dude?!...I like her and all that but you could've been fucking that bird instead!"
I could've been fucking this sweet, sexy bitch...But I would've ended up jamming a screwdriver into my ear to stop the sound of her talking about her hair or some such shit.
They thought my choice was second best.

However I feel it is the other way round. Yeah, I coulda been banging miss thang all night long and fucking off home to play my guitar and shit. Instead I chose the girl who I think is absolutely gorgeous, the girl I love talking to who actually makes me laugh (no other girl has had the ability to make me really laugh!) and who doesn't just want to fuck all the time. She's the type who will sit and talk to me about a shit load of subjects whilst drinking a beer, who listens to heavy metal, as I do and doesn't shun me for my musical tastes and someone who just likes to be close and loving.

I like the loving myself...I've had the meaningless thing many times before and it always left me feeling empty.

Decide what you want and see what happens mate.

I've got a couple of cliches here that really actually apply here. First, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is (i.e. the "first best" might not work out, may be insane, etc). Second, hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20, so don't get to bent up about what you didn't do. Besides, you've got plenty of more mistakes like this to make in your life, so cheer up! It's not the last time, other second bests will come around and you'll regret not "settling" for them, too.

I hate having to settle fr second best. I would go out of my way and spend a bit more just to not do it.
