btw, maybe this was discussed but as of february 2009, i believe you will need to come up with about $50 or so for a digital converter box, or you will not get your channel. all tv must be digital by february. you will be able to get a $40 coupon for a digital converter box but there are rules for it.

well i have satellite internet, which limits me to 300 megs a day. using torrents/streaming (combined with the other users in my home) would put me dangerously close. plus i want to watch the local 10 o clock news the old fashioned way.

Many TVs have antennas built into them. Try this, get some coax cable, plug one end into the TV and touch the other end to some kind of metal. This actually works and we used this method for some time and picked up a few channels. If it works for you just tape it to a pop can or hanger and nail it up on the wall

Damn I love these new digital channels here. a fucking 15cm piece of normal multi strand electrical wire has superb reception with my box 92% signal quality and 60% power.

I have also used a larhe wariety of coathanger/copper wire nigger rigged antennas whem no proper one was available.

I'm atm using a omnidirectional antenna of my own design, 96% quality and 70% power, fuck yeah.
