Default Girlfriend troubles.

I'll try and keep this as brief as possible. My girlfriend, who is 18, keeps a diary. I took a peek the other day, and only got to read one paragraph. She wrote it on December 10th. Basically, a few days before that, she met some guy at the mall who gave her his number, and wanted to hang or whatever. She hadn't called him at that point, but was debating whether or not she should, despite dating me at the time. She went as far as to use the phrase "a secret affair might be exciting".

Now, right around that time, I had gone to visit my ex's family, because she was home from college for Christmas. I had been best friends this girl since I was in 6th grade, and was pretty close with her family as well. We broke up last year shortly after Christmas, and hadn't really talked much since then. I did nothing wrong at her house, and mostly we just hung out with her family and caught up. Well, when I told my girl, she was pretty mad at me for this. I guess she may have been doubting our relationship.

I totally love this girl, and this is tearing me up inside. She walked into the room when I was reading it and flipped out, so I could not read any more of it to find out what she had done (if anything). She swears that she never called him, and is in love with me. We are getting pretty serious, and were planning on getting an apartment whenever it becomes possible. To make matters worse, I don't want to fight about this with her, because her mother passed away the same day I found this out.
So totse, any advice?

You both obviously doubt the relationship and have trust issues. Why were you reading her diary and why was she comtemplating cheating on you...

If you both can't get what is bothering each of you off your chest then the relationship seems like it will go down the shitter...

1) Never invade your girlfriend's privacy. She wont tell you, but she will probably be VERY pissed about that. Its a common thing for girls to express their hidden negative feelings by cheating. If she hasn't before, she might now.

2) Keep an eye on her. Know what she's doing at all times. If she disappears for long periods of time, she might be cheating. Know what she does and where she goes.

3) A diary can be an expression of fantasy. Like dream-type fantasies, they are harmless in theory, but rarely acted upon. Furthermore, whats written in a diary could possibly be a test of your respect for her privacy (girls are very evil this way), and you just failed.

You are an asshole for reading her diary.

However, she is a bitch for thinking these things. You are both as bad as each other, so I wouldn't worry too much. As long as she doesn't do anything, you are fine. If she does, drop her like a sack of shit.

You guys both have trust issues. Unless you can talk them out and forget it the relationship is doomed.

She's pissed cause you were reading her diary (which is understandable, cause all guys should have the nickname Curious George)

You're questioning if she was going to do something with the dude and of course she's going to deny it at the time. It was a month ago, and im pretty sure if she hasn't called the dude yet, she won't.

Heres what you should do....KEEP THAT PUSSY ON LOCKDOWNNNN.

Lockdown.

With a username "surprise buttsecks" you seem to have a pretty strong viewpoint on morals and privacy.

You compare reading a diary and your girlfriend seriously considering cheating you as the same? Reading the diary is nothing in comparison. She shouldn't be stupid enough to leave it lying around.

It'd be better if you hadn't seen that for the both of you, 'cuz you're gonna be thinking about it a lot now... Probably gonna make her more and more pissed at you.

You know, everyone thinks things that they probably shouldn't. She just wrote it down, which was her mistake. You reading it was a mistake.

My point, everyone makes mistakes. If she wanted to be with this dude as more than a "secret affair" she would be. You're the winner because you don't have to sneak around to get with her, this guy does. A fun game to play will be trying to stop them from seeing each other, without them catching on to what you're doing. This will lead to hilarious situations in which your excuses to keep constant vigilance over her get zanier and more outrageous with every episode. Stay tuned for more.
