Ok, since high school I haven't kept in touch with my so called "friends". I didn't want to, I kind of want to just move on from high school. I'm now in college its cool and all. I still have a few decent friends, more than enough for me to be satisfied. However my girlfriend only has about one friend she still talks to from high school and is depressed and upset at the fact that she has so little friends.

My solution is that the both of us go out together and make friends.

My problem is that I don't really know where to start and know what to say to people I don't know. Like introducing myself for example. Would anyone here talk to someone says "hello my name is ____ and I would like to make some friends what is your name?" Or something along those lines?

Do you have any hobbies or activities you share, that you could share in a social sense?

Alternativly, join one of those college club things.
They have them at the university I worked at, so I assume that all other after highschool education facilities have them. It could be an easy way to make friends. You'd be hanging out with people that have at least one similar interest as you.

Ummm.. Yeah were pretty much open minded to anything. We play frisbee together, we rock climb, computer games all sorts of shit.

We have done stuff at my school, but then the next problem arises, what do you say to people you have never met, sort of like an icebreaker?
