THC content test?
Is there any possible way to test the thc content of your bud? I know there are (or used to be at least) percentage charts for the different strains, but I'm looking for something that I can take a scraping of keef and measure the thc content of the bud. Just curious.

Re: THC content test?
There are some methods for testing it, but I haven't heard of any that the average pot head will be able to afford and use.

Re: THC content test?
1. Get budz.
2. Weigh budz.
3. BHO budz. Lotz.
4. Distill BHO through a fractionating column ~200c.
5. Weigh THC.
6. ???
7. TEH MOAR U NOEZ!!!!
Step six, of course, is in questionmarks, because the ensuing mathematics is so far beyond your average mathematics postgrad, no one has ever accomplished it... YARLY, lol.
'n yes, you probably won't be able to distill with quite the precision that insane SOBs could engineer shit. It is, however, one of the easiest ways for a glade-huffing monkey to get a rather solid fucking estimate with decent precision.

You have to promise to give it back when you are done.

Re: THC content test?
Chromatography.
Ermmm... chromatography tells you WHAT makes up a substance, not necessarily how much is in there I thought. I had to do that shit along with spectrophotometry and gel electrophoresis in a stupid forensics class. I personally only had to do it in ink comparison.
If I'm wrong, tell me why, I really want to know.

Purification procedures, such as chromatography, can be used both analytically (e.g., testing a small sample for the presence of a distinct reactive band), or industrially to purify a shitload of god knows what.
'n relatively lossless purification would allow one to weigh the pure compound, which... ;)

Pssh. You'd only be disappointed; most standardized extracts are "the extract of X units of plant matter deposited on one unit of plant matter;" e.g., making a tincture of 3g of salvia and depositing it upon a gram of salvia would give 4x salvia.
Disappointing, really... but simple.

Well that is good then hahaha, I would rather simple and boring than ridiculously complicated! Thanks.
