Default Can my substitute urine go stale for an at home test?

I posted this in the drug testing forum already but I just want to give more people an opportunity to see my question. Meta didn't really know the shelf life of urine so I decided to make this thread. Meta, if you think this violates the rules because of the drug testing thread, then go ahead and close it, all I want is more people to see my question because maybe someone else would know. So I'll just say sorry for making this thread now.

So whats the shelf life of piss? I got some substitute piss last night thinking I was getting tested but its not for a week or two. I am being drug tested by my parents and I am not watched so it will be easy to substitute. It is in a sealed bottle right now. Would that keep it looking natural? Would the smell change? Temperature doesn't even matter because my mom isn't gonna touch the outside of the container. It just sits on the counter in the bathroom and she dips the shit in there. It an at home test. I just want to make sure it will look natural enough maybe a week or two from now. So does anyone know anything about this?

And mods, if you want to lock this thread, then go ahead, but please leave it open because I need to know this.

I just answered this the other day...

Urine stored at 4°C (39.2°F) will remain fresh for up to 8 weeks[1][2], but obviously, the sooner it is used, the better.

Urine stored at -15°C (5°F) will remain fresh for 4-6 months[1], again, the sooner the better, obviously.

What about at room temp?

Probably about as long as you can store juice at room temperature.

You should put it in the back tank of your toilet. The cold water might keep it fresh longer, and it's already in the bathroom for when the time comes.

Ok cool, I just hope it won't smell too rank because its old. Its in a small bottle. Once my parents tell me they want to piss test me I'll say, "I don't need to piss now, I'll do it soon when I have to." Then I'm gonna go into the bathroom real quietly and place it behind this trash can thats right by my toilet. Im gonna come out and tell them I'm ready to take the test. Then I will pour the rank smelly old urine into the container. Or if I cant get it in my bathroom before, I'm gonna put the bottle in my crotch or find a smaller bottle and conceal it in my crotch. This is virtually fool proof right? I'm not being watched so I mean its perfect. So now time to smoke some more weed. Any other answers would be helpful though. Maybe some tips on how to substitute stealthily or just anything useful.

Update, it's been 4 days since I got the piss. I opened up the bottle to see if it was alright how it smelled and it was the most god awful smell I've ever experienced. I almost puked the second it hit my nose. This smell is beyond bad, just take the worst smell you could possibly imagine and multiply by 100. So I'm obviously gonna have to get some new piss because theres just no way that my piss could smell THAT bad. I need to get the piss probably no more than 2 days before the test. The smell is the most horrible, wretched, awful, stomach turning, and just plain fucking terrible thing that I've ever experienced. I definitely need new piss.

The smell is because of bacterial growth.

Bacteria will grow very fast at room temp. If cooled the bacteria will grow a lot slower.

It's winter, can you store it next to or out a window. Use a small cooler with ice/cool paks.

You need to wash your hands and peeper with soap & water, before peeing. So less bacteria gets in the urine while peeing.

Maybe a drop of anti-bacterial soap or a few drops of hydrogen peroxide placed in the container with your urine. Fresh urine can be a little foamy. These will kill most of the bacteria and will not mess up the testing.

Also have heard of putting 1/4th teaspoon of table salt in the container of urine, salt kills bacteria and the test doesn't look for salt.

If it smells, you may want to dilute the specimen with tap water, both are usually a pH of 7; some strips test for pH. However this will lower the Specific Gravity some strips test for SG, some don't. Also normal urine can be light yellow. You can explain that you drank a lot of water and are peeing a lot.

Remember if you cool the urine down, you have to warm it up before testing. You pee body temp urine. Place a lidded container in your armpit or set container on TV or some other electronic device that puts out heat.

Don't use the first pee of the morning. It has been in your bladder all night and the drug content will be higher. Afternoon/evening pee will have any drugs less concentrated.

I use to work in medical lab and the urine was stored for 2 weeks in a refrigerator.

good luck

Yeah, urine is only sterile when it's in you as soon as it comes in contact with the air it can grow bacteria very easily. Probably why they only sell "powdered" urine online. Next time keep the cup in a small cooler with ice in it.
