If you could point me in the general direction of studying aminos and/or neurochemistry/chemistry I would very much appreciate it.

Please dont just link me to pubmed or wiki, if there are any resources that would be easy for a beginner to understand, as well as some that are a little more advanced, i would be very grateful.

Wiki is about as simple as your gonna get, look for basic chem books at your local library or book store.

They'll get you on the path to understanding it.

It's a certain way of thinking that can be hard as fuck to get your head around. :)

There are actually some nice intro full version organic chem books on wiki.

Started reading at age 1, began entymology and palentology at about 2 or 3, particle physics at 7, spent a year in laser theory at 8, atmospheric chemistry at 9, a week of structural engineering at 10... etc. Picked up a lot of shit on the side during those times, too... local astronomy at about 4, botany starting at around 5 or 6, bunch of other junk... 'n so, whenever there exists something - either something to learn, or something to get done, that learning might help, I tend to...

...read. A whole fucking lot. Pretty much... nonstop, 8-16 hours a day, sometimes more, until I am a competent working professional on the subject.

You know those "worthless" people that your parents always told you you'd become if you didn't devote yourself to learning? Somehow, no accredited institution manages to see the wisdom in "read for 36 hours, then take a test," which leads to such questions as "what am I doing here?" and "wouldn't this time be better spent in a library?" and the like...

So, yes... being an unwashed, uneducated transient is a great profession, and the place society finds the most use for someone of my unique talents. As for a living, it's mostlys self-manufacture - it's sort of a running joke in LT that anything I mention tends to start with "smash this rock" or "grab any plant and burn it" or such, from scratch to modern technology, and provides much, much lulz everytime someone from BLTC wanders in for a/b advice and makes the mistake of using the phrase "cheapest" in a sentence...

The nature of human intelligence, even of the most minimal sort, from time immemorial has not been one of dependence... it has been one of finding ways around one's problems and enacting them independently. 'n since society says it has no place for those who enjoy learning in the slightest, the solution is to do everything, from polymers to textiles to equipment for a physics laboratory to food, without them... myself, from the same raw materials that the industry which has excluded me uses, from beginning to end.

It actually works very, very, very fucking well. Everything is free when you take it back far enough, and there's not only no decrease in quality... but an increase, because you can custom manufacture everything to your slightest whim and specification. In case you haven't noticed - not much trickles down to the consumer level, and what does do so takes years.

I avoid this loss in quality of life by being part of the source, rather than the consumer.

Being a throwaway is simply a better life.
