The pain seems never ending...
I got my wisdom teeth out... finally. Apparently the dentist I saw a few years back who said I didn't need them out was an idiot. So I needed them out "ASAP" because it "was an emergency". I'll share some of the story with you all. When I went there they needed to put me under, so they gave me IV Versed and Fentanyl. However, it didn't work. So they gave me more Fentanyl, and more, and more. And it still wouldn't work because my body has a absurdly high natural tolerance to everything. So they gave me Ketamine on top of everything and it put me out. But then they give me 22 Vicodin 5s once it's done. I got 20 Vicodin 7.5s to hold me over until the oral surgeon could see me, and I get a weaker pill once my teeth are out?! I called to complain several times, but the asshole doctor just says to take some Advil or Tylenol with them. This obviously is a terrible idea for more than one reason. First of all, those pills don't even remove a child's headache. Second of all, mixing NSAIDS can give you a bleeding ulcer (and I have enough stomach problems as is). Third, if I mix Tylenol with the already high amount in those pills I'll kill my (I'm sure already damaged) liver. So, that doesn't leave me with any real options does it? I can't think of anything else to do...
It's been a few days and I'm almost out of pills, the doctor still won't give me more. It's been over a year now since I kicked my huge Oxy habit, so I regretfully don't know anyone "in the game" anymore. Not like I didn't try though, every number in my contact list... Nothing. I don't know what to do... I've gotten a combined total of ~6 hours sleep the last 2 nights and that's WITH pills and ice pack, I'm so scared for what will happen tomorrow when there are no more pills. If anyone could offer any advice it would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks in advance. OH, also I live in Arizona, near Scottsdale if that helps in anyway.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
How much APAP do you have prescribed per dose? If it is near the FDR maximum, threaten a malpractice suite. Hell, threaten a suite just for the pain, then find another doc. Sorry to hear you're in pain though.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
Regretfully, I've been put in similar situations with pain. I had to revert to roughly 3rd plateau doses of DXM to not feel the fucking pain. It was simply out of desperation I used this until I found other means to releive the pain.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
Alcohol and weed would help if you honestly can't get anything better soon, though your shit outta luck if you have to drive/work/etc.
Try a numbing cream with novocaine or whatever 'caine it is they have in them, they worked somewhat well for my brother. :)

Re: The pain seems never ending...
DiamondX: I am prescribed 5/500 Vicodins, with 1 - 2 every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. So TECHNICALLY I could take 12 in one day if I didn't sleep at all, and took 2 every time. But I'd die, because that's 6 grams of APAP, and I'm sure my liver is already compromised. My brother has Wilson's disease or something like that which basically rapes your liver and supposedly runs in families... When I told the doctor about the liver damage he seemed suspicious of my knowledge, and told me to take Advil. And when I mentioned bleeding ulcers, he said I'd be fine if I only did it for a few days. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm just a drug addict looking to get high. :(
Death Snuggle: I've taken DXM a few times in my life, and every time I've gotten such severe burning pain in my gut that I wished I was dead. I hear that's not too uncommon, but... I'm not a fan of the whole dissociation thing anyway. What exactly are the "other means" of relieving pain you spoke of?
Silver Balls: Supposedly smoking anything after getting your wisdom teeth out is the best sure-fire way to give yourself dry sockets. So if I dont already have them, Im certainly not going to risk getting them. As for the alcohol, mixing APAP and alcohol will do as much, or most likely more damage to your stomach then mixing different NSAIDS. And I think the pain pills will work better for my analgesia needs then alcohol would. I am supposed to go to work tomorrow, but I dont need to drive. I may actually end up calling in sick, thats yet to be seen. I hadnt really thought much about any caine derivatives
I suppose I could try picking up some Ambesol or however its spelled. Im a little worried about putting it directly into an open wound though. I also happened to have once had an 8ball a day habit and know how corrosive any sort of caine can be to flesh. Especially exposed flesh like inside your nose or mouth.

Never said to smoke it..
Beer!!!
They're generally designed to not rape your flesh, being from a pharmaceutical company as opposed to the dealer down the street picking random powders for cut, i'd hope they'd know what they're doing.. :)

Re: The pain seems never ending...
Of course it isn't designed to do it, but that's not really something they have control over. It's just one of the properties of the drug; at least it is for blow... And I'm not sure how I'd even eat weed, seeing as I can't eat any solid food, at all. I suppose I could make some weed milk or something and drink it alone or make some tea with it or something... I don't know... Usually marijuana increases my heart rate which may cause more pain seeing as it hurts every time my heart beats. :(

Well, the other means was me getting a hold of a dealer. You said that you already tried. I only had the DXM hold me over two days.

Benzo...Benzocaine! It's sold as "teething" gel or w/e for babies. You can probably find it in a local pharmacy.
Smoking increases your risk of a dry socket, but plenty of people do it anyway without ill effects. As long as you avoid the "sucking" motion like you would do on a straw you should be alright.
That sucks about the doctors though.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
My friend got perc's for wisdom teeth.
The time I broke my collar bone they gave me Tylenol 3's.
Another one of my friends got a morphine shot and perc's for after words. It's some bull shit.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
Ug, I just know that this is going to happen to me one day. My dentist always says that they can't see my wisdom teeth anywhere, which means I either don't have any or they are right underneath my other molars and are going to start causing me some serious trouble somewhere down the road. For some reason, I'm pretty sure it's going to be the latter.
For your problem, I would definitely keep bothering the doctor until he gets you something better. Tell him you tried everything that he told you, but that the pain is still just as strong as before. I managed to get upgraded from vicodin to percocets by telling my doc that.
Hopefully, you haven't already tried that and been shut down. I wish I had some more advice from you, but other than "try to find some painkillers", I don't really know what else to tell you. If you get really desperate you could always give weed-milk a chance. Personally, I think it would help me out, but everyone is different. Who knows how you'll react. Good luck with your pain, man.

Re: The pain seems never ending...
Thanks for the advice everyone. I might try getting some benzocaine, but I don't know how I'd apply it. I don't want to try to rub it on as I might hurt myself, but I can't think of any other way to do it without numbing my whole mouth... Anyone know roughly how long the numbness lasts? God I wish I had stayed at least somewhat in "the game"... I'd shank a baby seal with a sharpened toothbrush for some Oxy right now. :/ I'm sure I'd end up regretting it, but I'd probably settle for some skag. Anything to remove this pain and not damage my liver/other organs permanently. If only there were some forum where you could post what you were looking for and where you live, and have someone deliver... Why is it that you can't just go to a Costco or Sams Club and buy a bottle of 100 Percocets like you can with Tylenol? This world just doesn't make sense...

Re: The pain seems never ending...
When I had my wisdom teeth out, the only thing that helped was lightly swishing some warm salt-water around in my mouth.

Weird, I got lidocaine for mono to. I also got 5/500's.
OP, try THC drops. Gylcerine and thc. You put a drop or 2 under your tongue and its sublingual. It's supposed to be left for a couple months but you might be able to get away with a couple hours if you heat it like budder. You feel it pretty quickly too, since it's sub-lingual. Good luck
