Codeine is just a prodrug for morphine and a few other opioids. What limits your high most is your liver. It has 90% oral bioavailability, so plugging it would be a literal and metaphorical pain in the ass for just a small boost.

Yeah, you need it to pass through your liver in order for it to metabolize into Morphine. Not to mention the problems listed with IV codeine use, I'd be weary of plugging it. To all those homophobes out there, plugging isn't a big deal. If you don't want to, you don't have to. But you shouldn't be imposing your opinions on other people, especially when the only thing you have to back it up is "Ew that's gross". Grow up. While plugging can increase the "value" so to speak, of most drugs, it's not worthwhile for others. Like Oxycodone for instance has a high enough oral bioavailability, that plugging is sort of a waste of time. And yeah, Codeine does have a 90% oral bioavailability supposedly; it is still only ~10% the potency of Morphine. To be honest, I wouldn't waste my time trying. The risk to potential benefit ratio isn't looking so great. Just eat them, if you're worried about it not being enough here are a few suggestions. First of all, take all the Codeine as close to the same time as possible. I can't find the source, but I remember reading that Codeine inhibits enzymes that help metabolize it into Morphine. This means as soon as you take some, your body is going to have a harder time getting high off of more. (E.g. I once at 2 Tylenol 3s, but didn’t feel anything. So I ate 2 more, nothing, then another 2, still nothing, and ANOTHER 2; still felt nothing more than a dry mouth and a light buzz. The next day I took 4 all at once and was gloriously high.) Also, crush it into a powder and swallow it with Coca-Cola. I've found that it works VERY well for covering the god awful taste of APAP, not to mention the Caffeine in it (if you aren't used to drinking caffeine, which you may be) will increase the analgesic capabilities of the Codeine.
