adverse reaction to wellbutrin?
i got my dose increased to 300mg/day of wellbutrin extended-release about a week ago
since then i've been having this strange feeling that i can't concentrate on anything, i feel retarded and zombified. i get extremely irritable and i feel compelled to squeeze things. sometimes i hear a "swoosh" sound, i must be hallucinating it. usually i never have any problem with any drug. i've been on 150mg/day for almost 2 years now.
now that i think about it, i feel like the opposite of what adderall does. maybe it's because of bupropion's effects on dopamine?
i can't really stop the medication, or my doctor will put me back on zoloft, which i hated.
god i feel like banging my head against a wall. ill probably go do that. bye totse.

Re: adverse reaction to wellbutrin?
if 150mg a day was effective, and you had no effects like this, then just go back to that dosing regimen

Re: adverse reaction to wellbutrin?
Prescription psychoactives are without doubt greatly overprescribed. They are also poorly understood and, despite their legal status, potentially as harmful as any illicit drug. That is all true. It is also true that Wellbutrin, and an equally controversial anti-psychotic, saved my life. For many years, my life was circumscribed by 'refractory schizophrenia'. Psychosis, suicide, hospitals, drugs... these were my 'life'. I had been on massive doses of dozens of meds, and hated taking them. Not that they did any good. Not that I was given a choice. Wellbutrin was just another pill they shoved down my throat.
Within a week, I felt better than I had... well, ever. In three weeks I was allowed to leave the hospital. That was over four years ago. I haven't been back since.
The dangers should not be forgotten. But neither should the fact that, for some, they can mean the difference between a living hell, and really living.

Re: adverse reaction to wellbutrin?
You don't need wellbutrin. None the less if it's fucking with you go back. That's usually something the doc will ask. If you report that it's been negatively impacting you he'll switch you back.
That or do what my friend did when he got forced on it(he's only 14 he can't do much), take up drinking. You can drink forever on that stuff.
It's a scary drug from my rec. experience. Railing was always best.

Re: adverse reaction to wellbutrin?
Are you being forced to take these drugs? Because if you are, thats fucked up. Otherwise, tell your doctor how the wellbutrin makes you feel, and how much you don't like the Zoloft.

Goddammit, you're such a fucking idiot! Just shut the fuck up forever. You don't know if this guy needs Wellbutrin, it's not true that a 14 year old can be forced to take a drug, you're 100% wrong in thinking that it raises alcohol tolerance, and you have to be absolutely fucking retarded to try Wellbutrin recreationally. You fail at everything. Get the fuck off totse.
To the OP, I've met many (many) people who have experienced the exact same effects from Wellbutrin, and some who have experienced worse. Tell your doc you want to reduce the dosage back to 150mg
