Default Do many females actually take a break from it all after the end of a relationship?

Seems like whenever a girl breaks up with a guy, she's out having casual sex, getting a fuck buddy, or getting a new boyfriend ASAP.

Do any girls here actually rough it out and spend some time properly alone and getting over the guy properly?

had one break up- haven't had a relationship in the five months since. haven't fancied one?
ehh, i think taking a "break" from all that jazz is a good thing. you find yourself with a lot of extra time on your hands, and i chose to spend a chunk of this time bettering myself, working crap out, and then on my friends+making new friends.

s'good that way.

Yeah, it's kinda sickening to me. Most if not all the girls I know are so deathly afraid of being along it's comical. And yet they like to consider themselves independent...independent while living off of a bf lol.Oh noez I can't be alone for a month I need to find meh a rebound guy...pathetic high school shit lol. I think they're more worried about the image of being single than alone though. I just couldn't live relationships like that, maybe it's just me :\

"Taking a break" is woman for "I'm putting the hookers in Saigon to shame".

Just sayin'.

I would say it probably varies from woman to woman.....and there is no set standard on any of this. Unless the chick was with the OP..... they all check themselves into a mental ward after finally coming to their senses and dumping his sorry ass.

Now cue Bunnyboy's response of...."I decided to unignore you just this once to see what you would say and ________" <<<<< That blank of course being his typical kidiotic butthurt whining.

Odds are, when the breakup happens, they're already fucking someone else. Possibly two, or even three someone elses. At the same time.

Threesome.

I probably come across as really bitter and sexist, but to be honest I think it's sort of sad. In fact a lot of womens behaviour makes me sorta sad. Like how they always feel like they look horrible, how difficult and mean they are too each other, and the fact many of them need to have a dick inside them on a regular basis and can't spend some time not having sex without feeling worthless.

Some bitches are good for only getting cock shoved up their cooters, and nothing else. These girls know that, which is why they feel the need to always have a boyfriend. If they didn't, they would be inoperable pieces of lonely shit that can't operate. I would be a very sad person if I could do nothing besides get fucked/or fuck. And I'm a guy saying this...and it seems like all girls want to just play that role. The cute stupid girl...they have no desire to make anything of themselves besides a gf/wife. Why do people sell themselves short like that????? For a relationship, to avoid loneliness. People who want to always be happy and never want to have to sacrifice or be unhappy to be happier later in life kind of disgust me. Sorry for the rant beligerant :p Where r da grlz that want to do something with their life besides become a wife? Hey I just rhymed :D

It's a remedy for loneliness. I broke up with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. I was a mess for like 3 days, now I'm fine, just rather lonely. I don't think I'd be having casual sex with anyone just yet (actually I'm not too keen on casual sex at all) but like... a date would be nice.

And it's not just girls that go out and find someone new right away. Guys do it too.

well lets look at it realistically.

relationships are...at their core, insitutions so the woman can either find a father to her child and more importantly for the relationship-- find someone to support her kid when shes pregant/vulnerable raising it.

when you get dumped, its often times because she feels you no longer fit the bill for someone to raise her child...(ie. she gets bored with you.)

some studies estimate that females end up to 80-90 percent of relationships... bottom line is theyre usually the ones to end it.

a new line of study has shown that females are less prone to post-breakup blues, simply because of the possiblity that they might be pregnant. and they need to find someone to support/gaurd her and her child immediately.

^^for the most part I have found this to be true in my experiences, I don't know why it takes guys longer. but most girls I know move on really fuckin quickly.

From what I've seen/heard, a lot of birds break up with the guy because they have someone "better" to go on to.

Not all though you understand.

I consider casual sex to be a part of taking a break from it all. Sex has nothing to do with relationships, so I don't see why you should have to take a break from it just because you're not tied down to one person anymore. In fact, that's actually a really fucking stupid idea. The fun of being single is being able to fuck whomever you want (in addition to many other things). What exactly is the argument in favor of drowning your sorrows in a pint of ice cream at home alone rather than going out and having a good time and enjoying your freedom?

It's a grieving process. I've know two girls who have seperated from long term boyfriends and haven't hooked up with anyone else. I think it's also a replacement process, if your radiator in your auto goes to shit and doesn't work, what will you do?

If you're like me, you'll want a better and more expensive radiator, with more durability, why not? Pehaps though, I might have traded a Cadillac for a Honda, and soon, I'll be whining for my Caddy back.

I hope this makes sense to someone.

The point is to actually get over the person properly. i think it's healthier to 'grieve' for a little bit, work some shit out, and LEARN SOMETHING.

I also think there's something wrong with you if you can't go without cock for even a little bit.

I do the second one. But I don't have random sex, either, so that makes it kind of hard to do the first option.

Slut haha just kidding... hmmm maybe not. But, hey if the guy really deserves that treatment, I'd fuck whoever I could too just to rub it in their face. In any other circumstance I would have the decency to at least wait a bit. It makes the person you broke up with feel about 100 times worse than they did before if they find out. I wouldn't be that selfish just to get off to "feel better" while you're making your ex feel really shitty. But, like I said, if they deserve it good for you. People do get whats coming to them though. Shit like that always seems to come full circle, so look out.

I would say it depends how long the relationship was and how much the person you broke up with actually cared for you. I think a mathematical equation could probably be derived from this. The graph would be some sort of curved line. hmmmm this will be called AnalBeed's law.

So you simply *have* to have a cock on supply at all times in your life, but you prefer a fuckbuddy?

Ok thanks for playing.

Where r da grlz that want to do something with their life besides become a wife?

I'm in no rush to become ANYONE'S wife. Don't get me wrong.... I still don't really want to DO anything with my life... you know I'd rather have a job than a career. But yeah I have no desire to get married and start pushing out babies (in fact I don't want to ever have children)

But back to topic. When I was 18 and my boyfriend dumped me it was a good 6 months before I slept with anyone, and even then it was just a one off. It was then a further 4 months before I got a new boyfriend. I went out with him for about 6 months and then it was about a year before I slept with anyone else. It's been pretty much like that ever since. I'm quite happy just wanking and stuff in between boyfriends, I don't need sex to make me feel loved. My family and friends make me feel valuable and worthwhile. Don't get me wrong... I'm not in any way against casual sex, my sister is a right slut and I think good for her! It's just that I'm quite picky.... so if I find someone who I fancy enough to sleep with I'll pursue them a bit first and see if I could bag them as a boy/girlfriend first before I have a one night stand with them and so far it's worked out pretty well and I'll just settle for sex if they aren't interested in anything more. But I don't even really start looking at other people sexually til a good long time after I've broken up with someone. I'd hate to be someone's rebound fling so I don't want to inflict that on someone else by them being mine.

Depends on how it ended really. Most of the time I just stick it out alone for a while 'til someone seeks me out. Last relationship I had though, ended on a bad note, and the last thing I've ever said to him was "If you think I'm not going to that party and fucking ____ you're dead wrong kid."

I've spent about 5 mins trying to think of a scenario that that quote could fit into, but I really can't.

No... I don't have sex with random guys. If that means going without sex, then so be it. Right now my ex-boyfriend happens to be a fuck-buddy of sorts, but if he wasn't, I wouldn't be fucking anyone.
