What do you do when necessary communication can destroy something?
Here's an example. I am a very clingy person. I need way more love and attention than I was getting. So I kind of hinted to my girlfriend that I wish she would kiss me more. Finally, after she wasn't getting the point, I nearly outright said "I wish you would kiss me more...".
So she started to more. But it made it kind of weird for a while (though it's better now). But that's not the point. The point is that even if she did start kissing me more, I had to tell her to. What do you do when you just wish things were a certain way?
It's not just for this. It's for so many things. I wish she'd call more, I wish she'd want to see me more, I wish she was as eager to talk to me as I am...
What do you do when communicating something makes it fake and forced?

You don't do it. If it's fake and forced it's not a part of that other person's personality. You could try to make her more romantic by being more romantic yourself but that's really about as far as any normal person should go.
Seriously though, fix the overly clingy/needy thing or it will rape you all your life.

That sounds like good advice...but how do I make myself less clingy? I can't change the fact that I love her and wish she loved me as much.

Re: What do you do when necessary communication can destroy something?
The truth of the matter is: in a relationship one person is always going to be the one that loves more than the other one.
It seems that in your case, that someone is you.
If you feel as if her affection is forced or fake, then you might want to start considering the possible end of your relationship.
It fucking sucks, but that's how it has to go sometimes.
Cheers mate.

Been there (only a few days ago). Hinting it doesn't often work. Just sitting down and talking about it like mature people is the way to go.
As for the clingy part, there's no surefire way to fix it. Sometimes it's a good thing. At least it goes to show that you truly care. But if you really want to get rid of it (or at least weaken it), take a break from her. Don't see her as much. Try and keep her far from your mind, and your strong dependence on her affections will be kept far away too. Not saying you should break up with her, just take the time necessary to get your head in order with this.

More great advice...thanks.
That's kind of what I'm trying to do. I'm spending time away from her a bit. I just need to do it and know that she still loves me, but shows it in a different way.
She says she's just not a romantic, affectionate person in general. That's a comfort, I guess, but I still can't help but feel that she might be if I was Johnny Depp. But that's just stupid speculation, right?

I'll never understand girls and the obsession with Johnny Depp... Anyway, I get that feeling sometimes too. In my experience, it's just a sign I'm cracking under the stress life brings to me. Probably worth some time to relax.

Hell, I understand it. The man is an awesome actor, and fuckin' beautiful. He has turned many a straight man gay.
I think I should just try to relax in general and be thankful for what I have.

Re: What do you do when necessary communication can destroy something?
I'm in a bit of a pickle myself...
My ex used to be a very loving person...She'd kiss me out of nowhere, tell me she loved me and throw her arms around me for no apparent reason, which I really liked because I'm very much the same way.
But she cheated and lied and dumped my arse before I found the bollocks to do it myself. I just kept trying to fix things and talk through past problems that still haunted me. She didn't like the fact it still aggrevated me so she broke up with me. However, I think she was seeing someone else anyway. But that's a different story.
The girl I'm with now I've loved since I first met her (when I was still with my ex coincidentally) and I fell in love with her a long time ago.
We got together a couple months back and when we're talking over the net, the phone or text messages, she's really loving.
However in person, she'll cuddle up to me all the time, which I love. Don't know why I do...But I do. But the kissing thing she'll so a lot less frequently than I will and the saying I love you doesn't happen as often as I feel or say it.
My advice is deal with it. Some people have no qualms about shouting their love from the highest tower to the townsfolk...Some people are quite happy to sit and not say it at all and just get on with it.
People are different.

Re: What do you do when necessary communication can destroy something?
There's nothing wrong with communication on any level. If you need to actually say it out loud, that's only a problem if you're uncomfortable with that.
