Has anyone else felt like this
So I'm 21, and getting tired of being single. I was with a girl for a few years, and thats been over for about 4 months. Since that Ive had a few flings, but nothing really worth the time spent
Im just getting sick of not meeting girls that are like me
I just want a chick thats exciting, a few tattoos and piercings wouldnt hurt, one that likes good music, and isnt fucking preppy.
Is that too much to ask? why the fuck am I having so much trouble. Let me add that I'm a decent looking guy, so ugliness isnt the reason. I get complimented all the time by girls, but I just dont like them.
I dont even see girls that catch my eye (in person), and no Im not fucking gay. I would bow to a girl in a fucking Nirvana shirt or a "emo" girl, but there just arent any around here. I see hot girls all the time that I want to talk to, they are just always on the internet, not in person, and you cant just talk to a girl online you dont know without seeming creepy.
All I want is a nice girl that likes the same things as me, and likes me for me. I like torn jeans, yes. And band shirts. Who the fuck cares? there has to be a girl out there that dresses the same way and therefore doesnt give a shit
does anyone else have this problem, because its so fucking frustrating. Kind of turned into a rant, but seriously, what the fuck gives. If I was ugly or had a dick personality I could see why I'm having this trouble

I've got plenty where I live, you want one of ours?
You've got to go out and find them. Go do something different that would attract your kind of people, start hanging out in different places, just basically put yourself in places with new people.

Yes please, as long as she isnt fat, haha
I guess its just because I live in West Virginia. I go to shows and still dont meet any girls over the age of like, 16. Its depressing. Thanks for the advice

No problem. I know for a fact it's good advice, I just wish I would take it myself.
It's easier said than done, I know.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
What I have found is that you can't make a list of things you want in your next girlfriend, it will never work like that. I know it saids cliche but just go out there with an open mind and be yourself. Oddly enough, girls can usually spot a guy who is putting up a front.
Yes, you can have standards but they should be a rough guideline.

Not being preppy and maybe wearing band shirts actually is a pretty rough guideline in my book.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
Really, my only guidelines are: Won't cheat on me, likes sex, is attractive, isn't a bitch.
I don't care about how she dresses, thinks, what music she likes, etc... I keep an open mind.
And the girl I've got now, I started fucking her before I really knew her, and it turned out that she has great taste in music and is generally a quirky, sexy indie-chick. Just 'cuz you see someone that isn't wearing a band shirt on THAT day, or might be singing along to a poppy song doesn't mean they aren't the one you're looking for.

I know what you are getting at, that's for sure.
I have only seen 1 girl around college that I like the look of, out of an endless stream of 17-19 year old's. It's depressing.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
I guess it just seems like if a girl is wearing abercrombie and fitch and high heels and a skirt in the damn snow, shes probably a high maintenance snobby bitch. I tend to label them before I know them, and it usually turns out to be true.
dunno, Im going to just go with the flow like you guys suggested, without any guidelines, and see how things go. I guess the reason I'm not finding a chick is because I'm trying too hard and therefore not acting natural
and yeah, Im not trying to sound like an asshole but most of the girls Im seeing here in good ol' west virginia are nasty as fuck

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
I think the local high school might be the place for you to search for a girl like that, and being that you're from West Virginia, I don't see anyone giving you shit for doing that sort of thing.

I guarantee you, they're nastier here. Sometimes good, mostly bad.
The only people I ever meet that I usually am attracted to are people over the internet.
Which is why I like traveling.

That wouldnt be bad, except high school girls annoy the shit out of me. I live in such a goddamn small town aynways I know them all and dont like any of them
Jaytwo- I can sympathize, even if there is a girl down here between 18 and 25 she is usually......well you get the idea

Small town. That's your problem. Job, money, car, move to the city. Seems drastic but hey, it'd work.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
A lil bit like 5 years ago when I was pissed off all the time and begining to develop a coke problem.
I don't think you should look for a girl with similar interests as you because that makes shit less interesting. I go for girls I like not girls I think would like me because that's gay. The "like me for me" shit is pretty juvinile as nobody can know you halfway completely unless you're incredibly vapid and dumb.
I'm gonna say somethin that I'll probly get flak for but all I can really say is its been true from my experiences and what I've seen: "girls like guys to be things that they aren't because they're dumb and insecure to a certain degree"
But I dunno, hang out outside pearl jam concerts...

Girls aren't gonna come to you... so you have to go to where they are. And chill a bit. Beign all "I want a girl" always comes across as a turnoff.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this
Dude, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade"
That's a nice analogy for "if you want to meet someone and all you got in your neck of the woods is one type of chick, open your mind a little more and you may just meet someone you like who isn't like your ideal woman"
