Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
I just got back from Olive Garden and have this really pretty waitress, oh yes she got a generous tip. I was with my parents though, because they wanted to take me out to eat before I go back to the university, so I felt uncomfortable hitting on the waitress in front of them. I did think about leaving my name and number on a slip of paper over the tip amount and say "new year means meet new people right? Give me a call, " but I figure she'd just throw it away anyway.
Anyone ever left their number for a waitress/waiter?

No, and bothering someone at work actually seems like a really dick move to me. Something an arrogant jock would do.

Rocko is right. Hopefully you'll see her again outside the Olive Garden. Oh, if you do, and she likes you and you take her on a date....DON'T TAKE HER TO THE OLIVE GARDEN! I know you're probably better than that....but I've seen it happen.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
No, but one time the waitress wanted to write her number down on the check, but didn't because she thought my buddy would think it was for him, and get us arguing. Turns out she knew one of my friends friend and she called me that night. We never hooked up.

I've hit on waitresses in person, but never just written my number on the bill and left. That would just get thrown out.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
You failed before you even left the restaurant. Shoulda left it. Even when they say they hate it girls love it when boys think they are hot. Woulda made her happy even if she threw it away. Unless you're hideous or something.
But in general... try to make sure that they can put a face with the number, and don't over-tip. Don't stiff them, but leaving too big a tip says "I want/need to buy your affection"
Nothing ventured, nothing lost, nothing won. But really, a small misplaced shred of self-esteem due to not getting not called? Worth a shot if she is actually cute.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
I did it my freshman year of college in a chinese restaurant.
It actually worked, but she ended up being a high school junior. Yikes.
She called, we hung out. Before things went too far a verified age, aborted.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
As long as you tip well and dont leave your number instead of a tip like some asshole, I dont see what's wrong with it.
Sure, she may laugh about it with her colleagues after you've gone, but in that case if she's that nasty do you care if she shoots you down?

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
I've seen guys leave their numbers for girls at my work. Usually it just gets a laugh but if she thinks you're cute she'd probably save it, maybe not actually call though.

Dorms are closed for Christmas you dumbfuck. But you wouldn't know that because you're probably 13.
@MH, yea I thought about just doing it just to make her feel flattered. Atleast I'd make her smile.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
I would if i seen the girl giving some type of signals or acting goofy. Otherwise it seems degrading to you and the waitress to pull something like that if theres no reason(meaning you guys didnt talk or anything). If shes acting goofy, id say why not try just for the hell of it? Like if shes bringing you extra refills when you dont ask or you dont even need one(like 5) paying extra attention to you, or if you see her pull some other shit.

I do this, but in a different way. I write my number on the side of cups at starbucks, then pass them off to the wimminz. Gotten quite a few calls back too

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
Waitresses find it incredibly sexy if you wait for them in the parking lot when they leave work at night. But the weather might be bad so you should take shelter under her car while you wait.

I've given mine to a few, but only if they ask for it.
I'm not incredibly good looking, but flirting with them right gets the job done.

You ask if she'll write down her number for you. Tip normally, you're not trying to buy them.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
Dude, don't hit on the help.
If you are hitting on a waitress, chances are you are the 500th mother fucker that hit on her, at her job no less, that day. Hitting on a waitress just places you in a general category in their perspective, making you not stand out at all from the rest. That means you are being put in the same category as sleazy dad hitting on younger women while his family's back is turned and drunk dude who doesn't know how to hold his alcohol. Lets not forget creepy old grandpa who is desperate for any young tail he can get. Thats right, your in the same category as creepy old grandpa.

If you're looking for a classy relationship a restaurant is not where to look.
I'd think I could pick up better at a restaurant than a cold encounter in public. At least in a restaurant the situation is already set up for you and you have several opportunities to try and impress upon the girl, unlike a club where one badly phrased statement or topic of dislike could get rejected. A waitress must, to a certain point, keep serving you.
Right?

Waitresses are paid to be friendly to customers. Unless she treats you differently to everyone else, in a good way, then just give up now.

Last time I checked this was precisely the kind of guy that gets laid.

You had me convinced I should do it next time until that last part.

Re: Ever left your number for a waitress/waiter?
I always encourage my friends to do it. If we're leaving a restaurant we don't normally visit (case in point, I'm going to quebec tomorrow and will be doing it at every meal) there's no reason to not leave your number if you think they're good looking. Worst case is she'll not call you, big hoohah.
A couple of times my friends were so drunk they wrote the wrong number down, and when we saw the waitress again, she actually wanted to see him (by that time he was dating someone else).
I personally don't do it when I go out because I mostly go to the same 5 pubs, and it's not worth trying in a club because the bartender barely remembers how much you owe her, let alone who you are. If you leave your number, make sure to leave your name and a note, such as "I can't believe you think Prince is better than Michael Jackson. I've been looking for someone to discuss pop music with. Give me a call if you think of something interesting to say." Of course, this is assuming you held conversations with her while ordering food about MJ and prince or whatever.
That bit isn't too great, but it's 5:15 am, give me a break. Make it short and sweet, but also make sure it sounds like "you seem cool enough to hang out with, give me a call sometime and if I'm not too busy I'll answer". Like all pickups don't come off as needy and don't come off as if you're picking them up.
It's easier to sucker them into a friendship and go from there. if you rely on attraction to get them to call, you will not get many replies.

Same here... I used to bartend at a sport bar. After we closed every morning0, we usually drank and shot the shit. Normally the waitresses would talk about the kind of stuff their customers were trying to sell them. I have yet to see a successful case where a customer scored a date with a hot waitress. Well, except for the case where a constantly returning customer really over tips the same waitress. That is one case where it has actually worked. $$ skanks... you know?
