getting back together?
My girlfriend lives in another state, and we have managed to keep in touch using AIM and myspace. She promises that we will always be together and that our love is like Semper Fi (always faithful), but then a month later she tells me in an email that our relationship isn't going to work out because we are going to different colleges.
A week later, I get another email that says that she wants to get back together, and that it was because she was under stress over the holidays. I don't know if I want to get back together, I need some advice.

Re: getting back together?
Do you trust her? Do you want to go back out with someone of whom you can only really communicate with over the internet?
Do you want her back after she cast you away?
Do you want her...or do you just want to be going out with someone?
Long distance can be tricky and painfull.

Re: getting back together?
Well, I feel as though I have been lied to, because she said our love will always be faithful, yet she breaks off her end of the relationship.
I'm not upset about it anymore, I've gotten over it but I can't guarantee it wont happen again because she told me that her life at home has gone to hell in a handbasket. It's not that I don't trust her, but I think that if I get back together with her, and her family gets into another fight, she will just break up with me again.

Re: getting back together?
If I were you I would feel really pissed, and I wouldn't like that our relationship would only exist when it was convenient to her.
If you really love her and she seems sincere, and you think your relationship can stand the long distance thing, I would give her another chance. But if she pulls that shit again cut her loose.

Re: getting back together?
Don't do it. It sounds like she needs someone and maybe you were her last resort. Don't do it.

Re: getting back together?
What's the point?
She already broke up with you because she was stressed...You live in different states...You're going to different colleges...
In such a situation, I would tell her that it's probably best we don't get back together right away but if our love is as true as she said it is, we can get back together in future.
Besides, if you guys do "get back together" and not be together, what's to say she won't get stressed out and dump you again?

Re: getting back together?
I just got a message from her an hour ago, here it is:
I miss you, hit me up on AIM. I am sorry for breaking up with you, I was going through stress, and had a nervous break down. I didn't mean to hurt you, it was the biggest mistake of my life for breaking up with you. If you take me back, I promise things will get better, and I will work it out. I will understand and respect your choice, I still have feelings for you, and I hope we can go out again and talk again as well. I love you sweetheart, I can't wait to talk to you again soon. Have a Happy New Year!
I don't know whether to accept this offer, I smell a rat. I can just tell it is going to happen again if she goes through another breakdown. I thought about just not responding at all, and blocking her on all of the communication tools I've used to talk to her, so that I can just ignore her. Good idea?

Re: getting back together?
She probably got really drunk and fucked someone else, felt bad about it, broke up with you, then did it again, realized she's a worthless whore and came crawling back to you to see if someone still respected her.
Nah, but getting back together's probably a bad idea. If you have the capital to come visit her, get used to seeing her for very short periods of time and then not for longer periods of time. She'll probably be hyper-clingy when she sees you.
