Just need to rant.
Sorry about this totse, I know that you are not supposed to be my blog, but it's half 1 in the morning and I can't sleep because I can't stop turning this over in my head.
You see, I have this friend who I have known for a good 2 years. She has been there when most other people have not, and in any case I could, I returned the favor.
Now lately I have been feeling really low. Long story short, I broke up with my girlfriend of 10 months, and all of my friends fucked off. (This happened about 4 months ago but I've always had issues with rejections. It hit me pretty hard.)
So I feel really fucking rejected, and I've started drinking a lot more. Not much still, but much more than I used to. (3-4 pints once or twice a week)
So yeah. I've been feeling low all of the time, I've turned into this quiet reserved person, instead of the outgoing, loud person I was 6 months ago.
Now, me and this friend have always been able to talk. About anything. Since we were first introduced we were great friends, I even remember the first conversation. We just kind of click.
But lately she hasn't even been interested in talking to me. I send her a song or something, and she wont listen to it. I'm expected to make the conversation, and she gets upset if I don't help her, or listen to things she sends. I feel like it's at the point where I'm being taken for granted.
Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying to get it back to what it was, by doing all the stuff, listening (We exchange a lot of music, it makes for good conversation) to everything, and generally fuelling everything. But now I'm getting pissed off.
You see, I have never had a good experience with friendship. No one friend that I have had for longer than 2 years has stayed by me. People seem to just get bored of me, which I think is where the rejection thing is from.
I really don't know how to end this, I just needed to get it off my chest. To make it thread worthy, anyone else have any experiences like this? If this thread gets some good replies, I'll post about what happened the last time I was in this situation.
Phew, that's a long paragraph. for you tl/dr people - I'm feeling taken for granted by a friend of 2 years, and I'm pissed off. That's about it really.
Cheers totse.

Re: Just need to rant.
You need to get yourself a new friendship group.
Get social, ditch the other girl.
I need to get laid..

I would feel terrible ditching someone who has been there for me through thick and thing, over 2 years.
It's happened to me (twice), and it feels terrible. I couldn't do that to someone.
And so do I.

Re: Just need to rant.
It's unfortunate, but sometimes friend relationships break up just like romantic relationships. In my opinion breaking up with mates is harder than breaking up with girlfriends.
Your course of action in this break-up is exactly the same as all others, find a way to forget the pain until enough time has passed that it doesn't hurt any more.

Is that a good idea though? I don't want her, or anyone else to think that I'm getting weirder, or clingy. I also don't want anyone to be able to use this against me.
Ugh, this is confusing. I'd go back to how I was before if I could, but I just don't have it in me..

Re: Just need to rant.
Are you lonely? You sound upset about not having much of a social life, but does it bother you that much?

Re: Just need to rant.
Being taken for granted is a terrible thing. However, some people don't know how to say thank you; while others simply don't care.
A friendship of convenience is disappointing at best. However, some people are too caught up in themselves or the things on their mind to indulge in caring about others.
There are rare people that don't take things for granted and know how to say thank you. These are people to treasure.
Simply, do what makes you happy. If you want to keep sending things to this person, then do it. If you don't want to do it, then forget them. Some people aren't worth forgetting, even if they couldn't care less.
If you want to end it, simply tell her that your friendship seems to be one-sided and take things from there.

I'm comfortable with being lonely, the only thing I dislike is not having anything to do in my spare time. I usually just sit around doing nothing, and it gets a bit depressing.

Thanks. I'm gonna keep talking to her, but not in the same.. eager to please way.
