DNA and compatibility
So, lately I've been thinking about modern romance, which in my opinion, is simply relationships formed through interests and lust instead of compatibility and interaction. But anyways, I've been searching for that special someone as of late, and am starting to realize that I am truly only attracted to females who are very similar to my appearance and personality. So, obviously you can see how this ties in with DNA, the two beings are equal, yet the two beings are opposite, is this a true attraction, is this true love? Either way, I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from, and if any of you have seen a man or a woman with similar DNA as yours, did they give you a different feeling, did you thrive off of there presence, with all social stereotypes set aside, did you feel something more from that person than what you feel/felt from anyone else?
I would like your experiences and opinions on this, Because if this is so, no wonder most marriages never work, no wonder all these people are turning into homosexuals, and no wonder modern romance is completely bullshit!

Not at all.
I'm really pale, and for the most part, I'm attracted to guys with dark skin. Personality is much more important than looks, though.

Skin color isn't really a factor. Remember I said similar DNA not exact DNA. It's more in the facial features and the body type.

I'm pretty sure that DNA is the deciding factor for skin color...
I have no idea what you're talking about.

No, my brother and I have similar DNA, yet we have different skin colors. Skin color is only one part of DNA, open your mind a little bit maybe, skin color is not the only attribute that DNA produces.

Opposites attract for reasons of intrigue; like-couples have things to talk about and do together. It all depends on whether you want to fuck her and hang out with your friends after or fuck your friend, see the difference mate?
No awkward moments ftw.

Yea, I was suggesting the opposite sex as being the opposite part of the attraction.
Because an attraction is an equal yet opposite reaction.

You need a biology lesson son. DNA, as in the thing you and your brother share, does not determine skin pigmentation, facial features, height, eye colour, etc.
You have 23 pairs of chromosomes. 23 came from your mom, and 23 came from your dad. There are usually 2 possible combinations, a dominant (UPPERCASE) and recessive (lowercase) allele. Since you get 1 from your mom and 1 from your dad, you can either have TT, Tt, tT, or tt. Basically, 3 combinations show your dominant phenotype, and 1 shows the recessive.
A person who has 23 dominant alleles will look similar to a person with 23 dominant alleles, and look a lot different from a person with 23 recessive alleles, regardless of lineage.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allele
Either way, it's fucking stupid. If I was a hideous chud (with a name like dragon slayer I'm sure you spend a lot of time playing D&D) I wouldn't want to limit myself to women who looked like me. Hell, if I ever saw a woman with as much facial hair as me, I'd probably need to gouge my eyes out.
What are you trying to do, Hitler? Breed a bunch of kids who look exactly like you with no genetic disparity? Have you not heard that mixing genes is the best way for children to survive? Get off your prestigious pedestal and go get laid some, then come back and talk about how you'll only date people who look like you.

You're in fact biologically supposed to seek women with different DNAs from yours. I mean, the more diverse the gene pool is, the better.

Re: DNA and compatibility
I kinda know what you are talking about, but mostly when I see gay couples. Why is it so many gay couples look almost identical? Like the balding chubby guy with a goatee is always with a balding chubby guy with a goatee. The tall lanky flat chested dyke is usually with a tall lanky flat chested dyke. Is one trying to copy/emulate the other? Or are they in the grocery store one day and come across their clone and then true love hits them? Just another mystery of the universe.

I find it quite the opposite. I go to school in downtown toronto a stone's throw away from the gay community:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_and_Wellesley
And believe me, I see a lot of tall thin geeky looking nerds with butch biker types. Scary as it is, I think the opposites attract stereotype works very well in the toronto gay community.

This. In fact there was a study done where a bunch of women wore test shirts for a day, and then a guy who hadn't seen these women before had to smell the shirts and determine which one he thought was the most attractive.
It turns out the one he thought was the most attractive was the one with the most genetically different from himself.

Re: DNA and compatibility
I agree with the original poster, the feeling I get when I see a hot blonde (lust) and a beautiful central european brunette who looks like she could be from the same ethnicity or racial stock as me is absolutely different (love) .
All of the crap about "opposites attract" is just lonely desperate people adapting to their ever changing society, where people look very different from eachother. If you're the only white guy in a paki neighborhood, you'll probably end up dating a paki sooner or later.
What are you trying to do, Hitler? Breed a bunch of kids who look exactly like you with no genetic disparity? Have you not heard that mixing genes is the best way for children to survive? What nonesense, this is all pseudo-science from the system. If this dumb lie was true then Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dominicoon Republic, Mexico, etc would be leaders in civilization and have the lowest infant mortality rates (they have the highest).

anyway, dna determines butterflies, and its people that have somewhat different resistances to sickness/diseases that we get the most "butterflies" with. those are the people who's genetic makeup is not radically different to our own, but rather overlaps in only a few places.

Re: DNA and compatibility
y'know. I thnk about this a bit.
the girl I'm smitten with has many of the same endearing personalities that I have as well as similar stature (short)
People want to share their DNA with someone who is like them so thatt their offspring become "like them but better"
nothing pisses me off more than seeing good white genes being infessted with some nigger blood..or even worse..Portuguese.

No, you want a short girl because she doesn't intimidate you the way a tall girl does.
You're not mad at the niggers or porkchops, you're mad at yourself for having worse genes than them, and not doing anything about it. I don't mind seeing any man with any woman because I know he did something to win her over, and he deserves his prize. If I like the woman enough I'll try and win her over myself, and my genes and skill will be pitted against his genes and skill.
I like to think I've got good genes and skill, so I don't loose much sleep over other men. If they get a girl, kudos, they're better than me, and I'll just wait it out till the relationship fails. If they're not better than me, the girl is broken and I don't want her.
Either way, I move on.

....
Dude I'm not talking about 2 people that love each other, anyone can do that.
I just find that there is ALOT of white girls out there getting pregnant at 16 by her dumbass boyfriend and for some odd reason decides not to suck it out.
they end up dropping out of school at 17 the boyfriends already up and gone on to impregnate 3 more girls, and the baby she will raise will grow up to be just as stupid as she is.
you live in toronto don't you, you must have seen shit lke that on the subway all the time.
and as for dating short girls because of inferiority.
PAH! I like this girl because she smart, beautifull, and the most perfect person I have ever met, her being short is just part of the whole package.

Re: DNA and compatibility
Your just oldschool thats all. You look and compare with the opposite sex according to your own interests/likes and all the rest of that good stuff. Then upon relating to them you might feel closer to them, or more attracted.
There is times when i make notes like this and it can make me more attracted to a female, but in a general sense it just makes me more comfortable around them. Alot of girls i cannot relate to most of my interests since i am a guy, therefore they wont know shit about cars, electronics/mechanics and shit of that nature. But just because they cannot relate to that doesn't mean ill toss them out. If they can relate to that kind of stuff it will surprise me and probably give them a bonus point or two.
I had a girl surprise me one time with her knowledge of a certain subject and it left me speechless for a moment, cause i wasnt expecting it. I still looked at her the same, didnt spike my desire for her or anything, just made me realize that i didnt have to shield talking about that stuff in that category anymore.
Dont get me wrong though, theres the usual stuff that still remain turn offs with me for girls. Such as stupidity/ignorance, they dont know shit and they intelligence is no different from a 4 yr old kid. Garbage!

Ahh, I admit my knowledge on biology was very limited, so thanks for enlightening me on the subject. But now that I review the information, I realize that it backs up my theory to an even higher degree.
And I wouldnt presuppose my physique based upon my internet activiy; thats just plain ignorant and steriotypical.
The intentions of my post weren't meant to force every human to follow the same path as me, I simply wanted to throw the idea out there and get some opinions from other people, so it could help me out, and possibly, also help them. Either way, I'm basing most of my experiment on the pure factor of emotions, I use science only as a guideline.

0.1% difference in DNA, holy balls batman.

I remember watching some documentary about DNA, and one guy was from like Sweden or something, and he had more DNA similarities with the African people in the study than he did with other white people/Swedes.

No fuckin way I'm reading through this thread.
However I will say that we are biologically programmed to seek out someone with very different DNA to us, so as to reduce inbreeding and to spread the seed around the gene pool evenly.
