Why do you carry on when you know it's never going to work?
I'm sure at some point in our lives, we've all found ourselves in one of those situations where you decide to continue with something, even though deep down you know it's got no future.
I don't know if it's intentional self sabotage, or just self delusion but sometimes we try so hard to cling onto something that's not going to happen, it takes over.
So why the hell do we all do it? :(

For temporary false hope that someday we will acheive it, in order to make ourselves feel better

Re: Why do you carry on when you know it's never going to work?
Mainly cause I get used to having someone to cuddle with/kiss and I get scared of being on my own again.
I'm selfish. Oh well.

Re: Why do you carry on when you know it's never going to work?
Because people are too lazy to pull out or have some false hope that one day they will make it.
My situations have never been on that level where beforehand its established that it will not work. Mainly if its not going to work its because i choose to do so. I usually just go along for the ride to learn and gain some experience, whether or not there is a pay off in the end or if it was just a waste of time.

Re: Why do you carry on when you know it's never going to work?
People don't like change.
You get locked into a routine and don't really want to accept a reality without <whoever>
Eventually you get over it and break it off, feel bad for a little while and realize that hey, this is better than before.
Another question applicable to most people looking for a relationship, if you don't see yourself with this person for the rest of your life, i.e. if something obviously has not future, why even start?
Probably for pussy...
