Oh, and apparently talk about her fond childhood memories whilst subtley point towards your penis. Because people wouldn't find that weird at all.

When (or if) it comes to sex, sex guides have us all over the place trying to maximise the pleasure, for her of course, and even suggesting thinking of lawnmowers, or your dad, to delay your climax.

All women do is splash out a bit on make-up, flick over the sex bit in Cosmo that evidentally says we get turned on by chatting about long term commitment and children, and try to make a decent decision on the friday night meat market before the Lambrini gets the better of them.

You're wrong. And pretty stupid if you think that 'all' women are alike just because of the ones you've met.

Most of the girls I know put a great deal of effort into looking their best when they go out. They'll spend 90 minutes making sure that they're as perfect as they can be. Last time I went out, I spent 15 minutes in the shower and shaving, 2-3 minutes ironing and 2 minutes pulling on clothes.

Last girl I was hitting on, once she got over her initial nervousness, she started really trying to get me to like her. It was obvious and completely unnecessary* but sweet.

*I'd been watching her dance for the last twenty minutes, grinning from ear to ear. She was having a fantastic time and it was damn infectious.

Nah I'm not for the whole one-night stand scene anyway. I prefer to get to know someone genuinely before making a move. The reason I posted is because I bought a "How to seduce women" book as a Christmas present and I'm shocked at the amount the whole scene is based around men jumping through ridiculous hoops, while women are just... targets?

Seeing as I don't really know about that whole world, maybe this is actually more of a rant about those books than it is about society...

OP.....its so simple. Put the books away and go and interact with girls. All you have to do is LISTEN to them, they'll tell you what their needs/dreams/fears are. The only people those books are helping is the authors themselves get rich. And most of what is in those books is nonsense. They are trying to simply something as complex as human behavior....which is NOT an exact science.
