If the AoC is 16, and she's over that age, and you never did anything before she was 16, there is nothing they can do.

I mean, they can lie and say you raped her, but there's nothing they can do about the age of consent stuff.

In some states, the age of consent is stipulatory. I know like in parts of canada it's fairly low but the older person can't be in a position of authority (police, etc).

Well, if you're right about the AoC (the #1 most common AoC in the US), then no, they can't get you for statutory raep (the best kind!) unless there's some loophole, like you're her teacher or her guard at a juvenile detention facility or something...

...but watch out for dirty tricks; if you go anywhere and are together for the transit, a sufficiently-shady, underhanded, and assholish person could push it as "custodial interference," for instance.

Imagine, in your mind, what a cop would do if they really just fucking hated you... tickets for j-walking if you step out a thousandth of a second too soon, going down on obscure little laws regarding the illegality of tying your shoes in a single- rather than double-knot on the third sunday of the month... that's the shit you'd have to watch out for, and how much of it you'd have to watch out for depends on how connected the family is - whether they can sick a cop on you 24/7 to dig up bullshit charges or whether they have to press bullshit charges themselves...

Most judges are very reasonable people. And I don't think he needs to worry to much about being 'known to police' for improper tying of the laces.

First you need to check that the AOC applies as you are over 18. Some places if the man is already an adult then the AOC for the girl is higher.

Second, if it is 16 then check that there are no 'extras' (ie anal intercourse is only allowed after 18).

Third, and this is the important one: Watch out for kidnapping laws. She is still legally a child.

If she's at your house and her parents call and demand she comes home then you MUST sit her in a taxi (don't take her yourself).

I would leave her and find a girl who is 18+ man it's just not worth it. If you press her families buttons even the wrong way, they can actually call the police and have you arrested(if the are assholes like this and yes many parents are and will be).

They can make up some bs lie saying for instance that you fondled her and she was scared and you will be in jail without any questions asked. Being 16 she is still a child and you are 20, not to sound mean but you should find a girl your age atleast 18. Not sure how much you can have in common with a 16 year old anyways unless it's drug and sex.
