The fine line between genius and madness
|
|
3 of 4
Well, it seems my idiot brother got his idiot girlfriend knocked up with an idiot child.
This makes me the only one of 4 siblings who hasn't done this. I swear I'm the only one who knows how to use protection, or at least use it properly.
I've taken a special interest in this pregnancy though. Since I personally have decided not to ever reproduce (it would be irresponsible considering my various genetic conditions), and my other two siblings aren't related by blood, this is really the closest I'll ever have to a genetic legacy. It's also fallen to my brother to carry on the family name, as none of my cousins are capable. Feh.
Anyway, I fully look forward to corrupting the child. I've already begun progress with my 3 year old neice, who I have taught to dissasemble everything held together with screws. My 12 year old cousin has taken to mad science better than I would have ever hoped, and will undoubtedly surpass me one day.

You must quash him now, while you still can.

Nooo...Reproduce, nurture the child.
Our medicine can do the rest.
Nurture them to become part of a better society.

Get some kids, just for the lulz. I mean, what would you be doing when you are 60 years old anyway? At least this way you'll experience life to its fullest, it will give you an illusion of immortality, let you live through your youth once again, and make growing old a lot less depressing.
What genetic conditions are we talking about here?

Read it again, hun. Take your time, you'll figure it out eventually.

If it helps, just stare at the words until you grasp the connection.

When I'm at the point in my life where I can handle it, I would love to adopt, or have a whole mess of foster kids. I do love kids.
Genetic conditions include 4 generations of extremely strong substance abuse problems, we're easily addicted to anything. Hell, I have a physical dependency on caffeine. Also, diabetes, thyroid disorders, third generation bipolar, while it's not conclusive that my anxiety has genetic basis, both my parents have anxiety issues. I think my extreme paranoia may have genetic origins too. Mine takes the form of fear of listening devices and having my communications monitored, but my cousin lives in constant fear that people are trying to kill him. That's real bad for a 12 year old. My family also has a higher than average cancer rate.
Oddly enough, on my mother's side, those who are not felled prematurely tend to have very long lifespans. Several have made it over the 80 mark, and a couple over 100.

Dude you should so reproduce.
Your children would be so awesome!
Don't waste your oddly messed up but still cool genes.
I would love to see an addictive bipolar 80 year old walking the streets or nursing home...
Please reconsider. You would be giving the world an unbelievable amount of lulz

Speaking of which, nobody's genes are perfect, everybody has their ups and downs. At least Prometheus sounds smart.

Re: 3 of 4
Just the one. Though I once heard an unconfirmed rumor that I have a half brother somewhere.
As for the genetics thing, yeah, I do have a lot of good stuff to pass onto a kid, and no one does have perfect genes. I have a worse than average bunch though. I have high hopes that genetic engineering will come to the rescue at some point though.
You guys don't even want to know my thoughts on human breeding and eugenics, but suffice it to say that I hold myself to the same standard I hold everyone else.

Genetically inherited mental disorders ftl.:( That + a few other things.......I would never want anyone to go through that hell.
