But really, the mod situation here is getting ridiculous. You get the impression it has nothing to do with what's best for this place, or as a way to 'reward' someone who has been here a while and spent alot of time helping people....it seems to be all about dick sucking/who's friends with who. Which is why we have five mods here.... (pretty unnessicary which is maybe why jackketch gets bored and insists on closing down threads that break his sometimes ridiculous rules).

Well, wires has been on totse for quite some time. She is around regularly, warm, and can be quite helpful. She is a long time follower of S&A and as you get to know her better, you'll see why she is a good fit.

wires was chosen by the moderation team of S&A, not by zok.

She has quite a bit of experience with moderation and seems to follow the less is more principle of it. It is positive for S&A.

S&A believes that it needs a wide assortment of moderators and there's no reason against it. The moderation doesn't clash and it doesn't have any negative effects on the forum, so it's all good.

Making a regular a mod is generally a pretty big risk. Also, an unnecessary one. Wires and other mods have been around for a while, have shown that they're good at modding and with the current problems with making new mods (they lack full mod powers). It just makes sense to take an under-utilized (but good ^^) mod than it does to add a completely new one. Adding to the pool of mods (at this point) could have other adverse effects.. with more people come less productive communication, which makes setting a standard for all mods to follow more difficult. Time is also needed to teach new mods exactly HOW to go about modding and what the limits are.

As HOZ has rightly pointed out modding a regular wasn't really an option. Not because we don't have regulars who'd make good mods. Infact we have the opposite problem, I can list any number of S&A regulars who'd make excellent mods.

But I didn't want a 'secret agent' mod. An S&A mod needs to have all powers and all access.

So the choice had to be between the 'foreign' mods who are regulars here.

Again, almost any of them could mod S&A , and probably do it better than myself. Which is why I have publically said I welcome foreign mods infracting here. Something that doesn't apply on some other forums.

I kinda agree. If Mojo goes then I don't know if Zok will appoint someone in her stead. If he does then that person would ideally need to be non-UK (but also so not a t-OH-tsean!). Other american or better still antipodean would be my fav.
