universiality of the blow-job
alright my understanding is that its pretty much only a go in western societies at this point. hell, giving a girl oral used to make you a pussy back in the day here too.
i know for sure its a no-go in the middle east and most of south asia. but what about the rest of the world?
haha OH. and i have to make a divergent topic as well. I absolutely love the chicks who want to save their virginity so they give head/get fingered instead...fuckin epitome of logic.

Oral Indulgences.
Sex and Affection.

Was it so hard to decide which forum to post this in?!
Is okay, I move it for you to right forum. :)

Re: universiality of the blow-job
I'm pretty sure it's universal, it's just individuals that don't do it. It's surely more taboo in some countries, though, so it's not talked about at all.
They do it in the middle east, too.

Indian=/=Middle Eastern.
And a lot of guys say they won't do it, but that changes pretty quickly in the bedroom. None of my middle eastern friends would admit to doing it either, but I know at least 2 of them do.

Huh?
Trust me , all christians would consider any kind of sexing before marriage a sin and anal sex would be a SIN. Hell, a lot of Xtians think it a sin even inside marriage (some condemn marital oral sex too!)
Or where you refering to something i posted a while back that a Jeho "court" had ruled that it (in the case) wasn't adultery as only anal had occured?

I think she's referring to young pseudo-Christians who want people to think they're saints but still want to have sex. I know plenty of people like that... I hate high school.

The Elders Council of The Jehova's Witness.
Was a case back in the 70's in Mexico if I recall aright. The adulterous couple had sex in a lift . He was a Jehova's witness and the elders ruled that his wife couldn't divorce him because only anal sex had taken place.

Gotcha, I thought that was what the reference was. Not saying you are wrong on that note, but here is what I know. My sister and brother-in-law became a JW in 74', and both of her boys were baptised. I've studied the Bible with them at certain period of times, and with my association with them and having dozens of friends as Witnesses because of the family involvement I'm one of the most knowledgable NON Witnesses about their tenets......
From my understanding, just because adultery occurs (anal, oral, regular etc.) that doesn't automatically mean they grant a divorce. The Elders Council you referred to is the body of leadership in each separate church (Congregation). Anytime anyone goes astray for anything, then a sub-committe of those Elders is established to investigative work on the actual situation.....usually made up of around 3 Elders. Part of the process is analyzing the "hearts" of the offending parties, and try to determine how regretful they are in their actions. So if he was genuinely remorseful about his actions they may NOT grant the divorce depending on his future actions. Kinda like repenting to Catholics, but no so much......it's kind of hard to describe.
Maybe some of their idealogy has changed since the 70's, since I'm now giving you the 80's on version. They actually consider just a handjob as official "fornication". Their explanation is because the LITERAL translation of the word "fornos" is something like....."improper touching of the genitals from someone you aren't married to". This is why in their youth they ALWAYS go out in groups, and not just 1 on 1, 2 on 2. If you have more than just a few couples....there is less likely a chance for them to have significant alone time leading to temptation. That could be sexual, or any other behavior that teens might get into....(drinking, smoking,.......)
The biggest flaw I've seen over the years with their dating/sex beliefs is it pushes the kids to marriage much faster than they should. Yeah, they kiss and cuddle.....but imagine being with someone you love and not be able to so much as touch their uglies. There are A LOT of quick marriages in the JW's, and of course it results in problems later as the months/years go by....once those hormones wear off. Interestingly enough the last 10 or so years HAVE seen more divorce in JW's....but that could be an indication more of society rather than the flaws of their religion.
Sorry for the long JW educational rant.... but over the years I hear so much bullshit about what people THINK they believe, and oftentimes it's totally false. I'm gonna call my sis right now and see if the anal angle has changed in the last few decades or not.

Re: universiality of the blow-job
.. but over the years I hear so much bullshit about what people THINK they believe,.
Yes there is no end of nonsense talked about them and thanks for the update. I used to have a lot of contact with them but its been at least ten years since i actively studied them/with them.
Was a time when my library was better stocked with their really really old books, the pre WW2 stuff, than the local Kingdom Hall (which I helped build). Hell I still have a photocopy fo the very first Watchtower some place.
Btw incase you didn't know they aren't supposed to talk to me (in Germany anyways) if they aren't an elder or pioneer. No not apostate, just I know (or rather knew-been a while) more of their history than the rank and file are comfortable with.
EDIT*
For shit and giggles I just ventured into the cupboard under the stairs...alone and unarmed, thats the kinda guy I am.
I still have 'Riches', 'Government', 'Prophecy', and 'Light-book one' -all what 1930's? Also have the more important later ones.
pps. does it piss you off too when other 'christans' trot out bloody Snell's "30 Years A Watchtower Slave"? God, I learnt to hate that book (he's interesting for the facts he quotes...the few he does.

I've read some excerpts from Snell....and think I watched him on the Donahue show waaaaayyyy back in the day. Damn, you do got a helluva collection of books there.....some I've never even heard of. You ever want to put a real good study into Revelation, check out their red study book dedicated to just that chapter.....can't remember the name now.
As far as "not allowed to talk to you".....sounds like that particular church was taking the notion of "not associating with worldly people" to an extreme degree. They definitely try to stay within their own socializing, and my circumstances are kinda unusual. I'm like that Crazy Uncle Guru pet for a lot of them.......I get invited to a lot of parties, weddings and other social occasions, but because I respect their boundaries and don't try to drag anyone into my debauched lifestyle.
They really do get a bad rap. I think its because of the door-to-door annoying people, it sticks for some people like a punchline to a joke. They are an easy target when truthfully they are really no different than most peeps. Its funny how people judge weird behavior of a JW, and then chalk that behavior up to being their religious influence. I remember years ago arguing with a guy when he tried telling me...."they aren't allowed to drink alcohol". All because his neighbor didn't happen to drink, and he happened to be a JW. When in acuality, their real rule is ....."not to drink in excess, or be a chronic drunkard". And yeah, behind closed doors with their spouses.....anything goes for them just like anyone else....no rules on that note.
Fun convo.......one day I'll wander over to MGCBTSOOYG and we can talk some more about all this. Kinda hard wading through the whackos some days though.
Edit: Talked to my sis, and she doesn't know of any changes in regard to the anal issue we discussed earlier in recent decades. Who knows, could be just another weird misinterpreted version of events......the old game of grapevine that always seems to get twisted somehon

Thing is that the JW's vary greatly from country to country. I knew the Church in Germany and the Uk and the differences were sometimes extreme. Of course the central rules/doctrines were the same but the Church does conform to its environment to some extent.
So a 'rule' in Germany may well not be applied to the same degree in England etc etc.
I remember the Revelations Book (A4 size, right?). Went to the Study for that book.

Yup, that would be the one. Great fuckin text there. And I hear ya on the degree of interpretation country to country, congregation to congregation. They also do adapt their idealogies sometimes for the subtle things. An example of that is tattoos. A couple of decades ago, it was totally frowned upon...(obviously if someone got a tattoo AFTER being baptised). Now its kind of a grey area. The Elders don't condone/encourage peeps to get them, but they won't get into any real trouble over it either.
