Getting involved in my father's business?
Edit: In a nutshell, should I get involved in my fathers personal life or not?

Re: Getting involved in my father's business?
How old are you?
EDIT: If you're under 21, see if you can get her to serve you when its busy. Then get the police involved. If she wont, just borrow someones ID who is 21. And get rid of it before the night is over. Once the police are involved, it gets very -very- messy. The place gets a huge fine, she can be facing jail time, you have the option of suing the establishment, and i can almost guarantee she'll lose her job.

Nobody makes a man get behind the wheel. He made his own choice and everybody has to live with the consequences of his actions.

AfuckingMEN!
Your Dad needs to grow some balls and you need to keep the fuck out of his business.
No sympathy at all with him, probably because I'm an alcoholic and have heard every excuse going.
No one makes him drink or leads him into temptation. No one makes him drive when drunk.
I've done a whole lot of stupid things in my life. But the one thing I don't do and won't tolerate when others do, is drink driving.

Re: Getting involved in my father's business?
Okay geniuses, you passed the whole point of the question. Regardless of drinking and driving, should I confront this woman to leave my father alone or is not my place to get involved in my fathers business? And Jack, I respect you as a member of totse because you are a very productive member, but please do not insult my father. He has plenty of problems and you have no clue. I have no sympathy for his alcoholism and drunk driving either.
What I am asking for help on is whether or not I should confront or talk to this woman or not. Unless you want to answer this question dont asnwer at all.

Uhm wasn't the phrase "you need to keep the fuck out of his business' answer enough?
And if he drink drives then he's a cunt, plain and simple.

No.
No.
No.
Oh wait, are you talking about personal life or business business. Don't go into business with your relatives, that's all I have to say.
As for the personal stuff, probably not. I don't know.

Re: Getting involved in my father's business?
drink drive
Will you please attempt to stop your entire country from using this utterly ridiculous term. Drink fucking driving isn't even a proper pair. Drunk driving makes much more sense and doesn't make you sound like a fool.

Re: Getting involved in my father's business?
I'm 100% against drunk driving. There is just no need. Yes, it's expensive for a cab, but it's just as idiotic as playing russian roulette.

Re: Getting involved in my father's business?
NO! Just plain no...
Sorry, It just hurt too much to read your entire post, so let me aplologise in advance if my comments are off point. Also, first and formost let me extend to you my sympathy for what you are probably going through right now. I know pretty much how deeply it hurts.
But your question: "Should I get involved in my father's business?" Again, NO. Should you be concerned? Yes. Should you care? Yes. Should you do whatever you can to be supportive in any possible manner? Yes. Should you offer advice (when ased for)? Yes. Should you try to involve yourself by offering advice, guidance or direction when it is not asked of you? Again, NO.
I am tempted to go first to the issue that he is your father... one of your parents. But that may seem just too 'old school' for you to accept. So lets turn the tables: If he were to come to you and offer the same kind of 'guidance' from him into your life would you be willing to accept his advice as to who you should date, hang out with or whatever aspect of your life he was not comfortable with. How willing would you be to accept his 'involvement' in your life choices?
I am pointing no fingerss or making any accusations, but for the sake of this debate, lets say that you are doing some heavy drugs, hanging out with the 'wrong' group of friends and listening to that evil rock 'n roll music. If he sat you down for a serious man-man talk about your life, your future and how you need to reform youself in order to be a productive element of society, would you be more likely to a) toatlly change your ways in order to please him or b) go just that much further over edge in order to piss him off?
Seriously man, I do wish you, and your old man, the best of luck. Please, for your sake and for his, do whatever you can to help him out. But do that from his perspective and not yours. There is no way you can force upon him that which he does not want to, and will not accept.
