Every relationship I've ever been in has yielded no emotional results for me. Why?

Some people have horribly deep emotional issues that prevent us from ever developing meaningful relationships. I have insane problems with intimacy, abandonment, and trust, which have prevented me from ever having a deep or significant relationship with anyone, romantic or platonic.

Perhaps you have similar issues.

That kinda sounds like me so next question, anything to help me overcome my love issues? I try the whole "you can do it, all in ur head" thing but I just cant get to the love point.

i dont know what its like to be in love persay. im extremely talented at preserving interest in a long term relationship, often at a cost to mine. I deeply care for her in a legitmate non-romantic way. i treat the relationship similar to a game, in that all of my focus goes into making sure im not boring or less desirable as it progresses. and its extremely passionate when we're together.

but on the other hand its often times one sided, and when im away it doesnt even feel like im in a relationship to begin with.

i assume its like how its been said: you have to let yourself fall in love.

im too jaded, untrusting and cycnical to ever let that happen.

I'm gonna blame part of it on my high intelligence, part of it on the cynicism and hate I gained after watching my parents go through a fucking NASTY divorce at 12, and watching my family fall apart for the past 5 years - and part of it on drug abuse.

Sometimes I feel pretty flat and empty. I'll look at a person and I'll feel absolutely nothing for them, good or bad.
And at other times I'll want to carve strange runes into that person and adorn them with crystals I love them so much and never let them leave my sight.

Somewhat same for me, although in my case it's just that I feel that I'm in control of myself all the time. As in my conscious is always on, and controls what I feel or do.
