A little while back me and my gf went in for piercings. She had both her nipples done vertically and I got an apadravya. An apadravya is a barbell through the top of the head to the bottom of the head. It is considered to be the most painful male piercing and also the best for the female partner's stimulation.

My question is: how do you feel about genital piercings? Do they creep you out? Are you accepting of them or scared of them? Would you ever get one yourself? How would you feel if your partner decided to get one or you found out someone you liked had one?

When I was first into body modification and was all excited about it, I had no money for a tattoo. So I looked at other options and determined that I would brand something into my body. But then I needed a symbol that meant a lot to me and had to be simple, as branding cannot be complex unless you pay a professional (again, no money). As I was reading one day I came upon Jung's theory of a common conscience where one of his supporting ideas for it was that in every culture we see a "glorified circle" or the mandalas. It was this that inspired me to brand a perfect circle, or mandalas, into my left forearm. I used a lighter and the edge of a test tube. I practised many times before ever striking myself. The actual event however happened with a girl that I was friends with during freshmen university. She liked the idea and so did I so we ended up branding each other that night. Since then, I have branded my current gf with the same image at her request. The brand itself has faded in the year that I've had it, and I'm going to have to rebrand it if I want it to remain. I find the image very appealing. The actual pain element is minimal as a brand will burn the nerve endings in less than a second.

To the others who have expressed distaste, you haven't really told me why. One of you doesn't want a hole in their penis, fair enough, but that's what it seems to boil down to: What you would or wouldn't consider to be right for your body. In that same light, mr. jumbo you shouldn't really be so quick to judge. Just because something isn't right for you doesn't mean it isn't right for someone else.

I've burnt metal shapes in before, generally by holding the handle of a metal scalpel over a candle and then pushing it in, but I find the results end up kind of blurry and not great looking. They also tend to get infected quite easily. It's interesting to see how someone sensible would do it.

So you heat up the metal scalpel and then draw shapes? Alright, if I'm following right then I can see the problem. First off, the pressure of your hand will vary a lot when you do it. This will make some lines darker and others too soft. Also, the heat will be in complete fluctuation depending on how long you have it on/off the flame which will again result in the blur. I could also see it getting infected easily depending on your sterilization techniques.

What you do in your home is a crude version of a cautery pen (a soldering iron looking device). The actual devices are constantly heated and the artist usually has enough practice to maintain even pressure. This is actually one of the least popular kinds of branding.

What I have done, and what is very popular in DIY and just regular shops is to do strike branding. This is where a single shape is heated and then applied evenly to the area. Although, I did notice that with my brand and with others I've seen that are DIY, the lines are rarely even. This leads me to do "touch-ups" later on in the year to correct the fainter lines.

For infections I do the following. Firstly, anything that brands my body needs to be THOROUGHLY disinfected using rubbing alcohol, that should go without saying. Secondly, the first few days/weeks I pay very close attention to the brand and clean it two to three times a day, or every time I wash my hands since it's on my forearm. The only infections I've had is just red bumps from ingrown hairs in the area. These aren't common, but have come as my brand grows older. They go away usually in a few days. The actual brand, if done properly, should eliminate all hair in that area so these aren't usually a big problem.

As far as someone else branding me, I wasn't under the best judgement at the time. That being said, every body modification I have was done by another person, whether that was a piercer or a random girl. So the whole "invasive" thing really didn't bug me. However, I think in retrospect I would have rather done the brand to myself since her job wasn't all that great. I ended up fixing it several times before I was happy. But yeah, I could see how it could be a sort of "invasive" feeling with someone else hurting you but personally I got a kick out of this girl that was so excited to burn my flesh haha.

I have no piercings or tattoos, but I want a tattoo or two or three.

As for now, I just have a Guinness Harp scar on my right shoulder blade which my friend cut into me.

I had my friend brand 8 symbols into my back, using different lengths of wire. I was only doing straight lines, so i would get the desired length, then bend the wire away to make a sort of handle. we heated the wire on a stove until it was red hot, and they took this metal plate about the size of a drivers license, and pressed the wire down against my back, with the plate, so that it was even. I got 26 lines branded to make the symbols. The pain wasnt bad, but i would suggest icing the area before because it dulls the nerves a bit.

As far as my dick's function, there is only one major concern and that is spray. You can imagine that if you put a barbell in the immediate path of oncoming fluid, it might divert things a bit. I can still pee standing up, I just have to play with the stream a bit to make sure I don't spray everything. It's a small price to pay IMO. Not only does it greatly increase my sensitivity, it also stimulates all the right parts of my girl. Can't go wrong!

If you do get it, as tempting as it is, try not to 'use' it for at least a week. I think I waited about 3 or 4 days to try it out, but it wasn't healed up enough and it started bleeding. :(

It's a 16g. Apparently, you're not supposed to get anything smaller than that because it makes it more likely to rip if it's too small. I think it's 1/2" long.

I once had an eybrow piercing, but it got ripped out. Still have the scar -- it looked pretty bad-arse for a while, but now, my eyebrow hair covers it, mostly.

It was easy, for some reason easier than my last earlobe piercing, which was a little hard to force through with the needle. Not very painful, probably on par with most regular piercings, just the same as lobes I guess. I've only got my ears, my smiley, and my labia done, so I don't have much to compare it to, see.
I used 18g, which I realize is probably a bit small. I have a 16g horseshoe in it now. It was easy to heal; I rode my bike the next day, albeit carefully, and well within a month it was just fine.
I find tight jeans a little irritating, but I always wear skirts, so it's probably because I'm not used to them.

I love my apradavya. Its currently at an 8g, but im thinking about stretching it to a 6. Yes it hurt like hell but it was sooo worth it.

To add to the discussion of female genital piercings, the rule is actually that you shouldn't get anything smaller than a 14g as I recall. My VCH is a 12g and my labia are 10g. I did all three myself and you do get past the pain quite quickly.

I would never get one. I have a lip a nose piercing though. I think nipple pierces are really hot, never really been too turned on by genital piercings.

Yea, but the skin where you get a VCH is really thin, unlike your penis. I can't imagine how much that had to hurt.

If you get someone good and experianced to do your nipple, you should still be able to breastfeed.

Also, I've heard tounge piercings are great for oral sex (male and female). You can actualy get things called ticklers that fit over the ball of the tounge piercing that make it feel better.

Oh yes, it was extremely difficult to get the placing right. I redid it twice to get it where I wanted it. Now that I think of it, I guess I must be a bit of a masochist to have gone through all that. I also redid one of the labia (inner; I think outer ones look kind of funny) a couple times for placement.
Yes, the weight of the jewelry did cause them to pull quite a bit. I have pretty big labia as well and it is pretty uncomfortable to wear the jewelry, and not very attractive. When I first pierced them, the main idea was just to have something pierced that was my own. It wasn't for looks or comfort or fun or anything. It was just a personal thing that I wanted to do. Now that I have my hood, the disadvantages of the labia piercings outweigh the advantages. So if you have big lips, I guess I can't really recommend a 10g since I don't even wear mine anymore.

Like xxombie mentioned, there wouldn't be any problem with breastfeeding as long as you were taken care of by a professional. You seem quite young, perhaps when you're older you may become interested in something a tad more extreme.
