High school senior going to college
In less than a year I'll be 5+ hours away at college.. able to be home on thanksgiving, christmas break, and summer
I'm dating a girl now, and we're extremely into each other.. by the time I graduate it'll be about 2 years.
I know, just from being honest with myself, that it won't work.. and I think she knows it too? but how do I go about talking to her about it?
it seems like a lot of my fundamentalist friends try to make me feel bad whenever they say 'are you going to stay with her when you go to college?' and I say 'no, it wouldn't work'
is feeling the way I do normal? I'm sure it is.. it was a question of rhetort; but why is it that people insist on making one feel bad about this?
whenever I try takling about it with her, she says 'lets not talk about this now.. we still have a while' which says to me that she expects it too.. idk.. am I being rational?
and yes.. college 'experience' is somewhat of a motive.. but I'm being real here..

Re: High school senior going to college
Not unreasonable at all.
Is your girlfriend going to the same college? If she is, then I can see why they'd think you're an asshole for breaking up with her.

Re: High school senior going to college
not to be pessimistic or anything but if she doesnt go to the same college, itll be doubtful you'll maintain the relationship. i know so many ppl who come to school with a relationship and break it in the first semester

Re: High school senior going to college
I say you make atleast an attempt to keep the relationship going. If you're into eachother as much as you say, then you should be able to resist. What if you two are soulmates?
But then again, "soulmates" are bullshit and there's lots of free drunken pussy at college. Fuck that bitch!

Re: High school senior going to college
Look, u want it, itll work. How bad do you want it? You guys can keep a relationship going even if u only see each other a total of a month and a half throughout the course of a year and half, and you can still get the girl.
It happened to his girl of 3 years, he joined the navy and a year and a half later, they're getting married next month and shes movin in with him.
You want it, she wants it, the world's for your taking!!
