So registration is open then?
Is registration open now?
I'm just seeing alot of acolytes posting, and alot of spammers with new accounts who then get banned and then somehow have another account. This would leave me to beleive that registration is infact open...but some posters say it's not?
Could someone explain to me, if anyone actually knows please?

Re: So registration is open then?
I'm sure it's just that the spammers have oodles of back up accounts.
I doubt reg would have been opened without an announcement of some sort.
Besides, if we still have the demi-mod issue, I think it's safe to say that Jeff hasn't been around enough lately to open registration :)

Re: So registration is open then?
Some people have handfuls of accounts that they use to post different things. When they think that somebody might recognize one account, they use another.
It's sick in the head.
However, you can't penalize somebody for not having a bunch of posts.

Re: So registration is open then?
Ok thanks for clarification.
This is actually a good time to weed out all the serious spammers.
Of course I'm not infracting anyone who just happens to be an acolyte or anything stupid like that!
But generally, the trolls and spammers, are getting antsy. They're getting clumsy.
Edit: Does this mean people who have a tendency to evade ban actually sat around one night when totse registration was open and just..made account after account?
That seems quite scary and desperate.

There is no rule against trolling. Trolls are posters as well.
Spam is advertising. Flooding hasn't happened in a while, as far as I've noticed.
They make an account whenever a funny name occurs to them. Some posters have notepads full of spare accounts, from what I hear.

I did not re-open registration. When I do, I'll make some sort of announcement here.
