Its something ive been interested in for a long time. Not me starring in porn, but shooting it. I already have a handful of beautiful girls who I know would do it, problem is not all of them are over 18. Who would I distribute my videos to? Alot of the porn industry is ran by mafia, so where do I break in? Also, what is some basic equipment I would need, in terms of lighting and recording? Anyone have any experience in this? My old Football coach is the head of a large mafia family here in Las Vegas, he runs several strip clubs and was married to a pornstar named *******, would consulting him be a good idea?

Anyway, approach him about it for sure. Tell him you are interested in shooting porn, and have a large lineup of females. Ask him how you should go about doing it, if he'd be interested in supporting you (tell him you'll shoot a pilot first), ask for some behind-the-scenes knowledge, etc.

Don't be shy.

Also, I'll star in your movies. For free. I'm no Ron Jeremy, but I'm a whiz behind special effects tools. I can give myself another 15" no problem.

While I don't have any experience shooting porn, I have filmed, edited and produced a few short films, and countless skate videos 4 years running.

Cameras:

Your defiantly gonna need a 3CCD camcorder. Nowadays you will see the Canon XL2, the Panasonic DVX100B, and the Sony VX2100 as the industry standard with short videos/porn.

Look em up. They aint cheap. You could also look for a Sony VX1000 on ebay, but the only problem with that is its close to 15 years old. Most problems with them are dirty heads or a bad ribbon cable. Easy enough ti fix yourself.

Lighting:

Don't go with florescent lighting. If you don't set your WB (white balance) up on your camera right, your picture will have this nasty orange/green tint. Natural lighting is best. Either that, or incandescent.

On-camera lighting is good too, for those times that you never know what your gonna expect (IE, Girls Gone Wild). They have used Bescor 20/40w and 50/100w, depending on how much light they need.

Editing:

If you do the editing, you'll learn that video files are pretty big. Get an external firewire harddrive, or another internal SATA hd. I say firewire because, while it may be slower than firewire, (400vs600 firewire vs usb), it is a constant flow of data. USB jumps around. USB is ok for pictures/music, where quality isn't of that much importance, but with video (especially porn), you want quality to be excellent.

Good editors are Sony Vegas 7.0 for windows, Final Cut for Mac, and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 for both. For effects, go with Adobe After Effects 7.0.
