Bareback with a random: should I get tested?
I hooked up with a girl I met in one of my classes. I didn't use any protection, seeing as I foolishly forget to make sure if I had any condoms before she came over (stupid, I know). Pre-coitus, I told her I didn't have any condoms and she said "it won't be a problem, I'm on the pill." Naturally, I thought it would be rude to ask her about STIs and whatnot (and also, I assume that if she knew about any, she would have had them treated). Anyway, it's been two days and I haven't noticed any symptoms of anything. So if I did contract something from her, how long would it take for something to turn up? Or, should I not wait for anything and just go to a doctor today/tomorrow?
Thanks.

Re: Bareback with a random: should I get tested?
But if you go too soon? They won't have had time to reproduce. It can take up to a week. You could make an appt. with your STD Clinic. Does your city have them?

I live in Canada, so I can just go to my family clinic and see the on-call doctor. Hmm, this seems rational to me. I'll go on friday.

Re: Bareback with a random: should I get tested?
Ps I take it you don't have any knowledge of STD's? When you say "If she had any symptoms, she would have got treatment."?
Do you know how dumb that makes you sound? I take it you have never read anything about them thar diseases & are totally vague on the subject?
>>>So? You'd rather see a doc you might know, rather than an stranger at a STD Clinic?

OOoh Russian Roulette, I LOVE IT!
..
Yes, go to a doctor.
And if in three months time you make a thread saying
"so this girl I screwed a while back turns out to be pregnant with my kid"
then you'll have only yourself to blame.
Not to be a mysoginist, but you must be pretty stupid to beleive that when a woman tells you something she's automatically telling the truth.
It would be a good idea to go to a doctor, really it would. for your own sake, and for the sake of any partners she might go on to be with, and for the sake of any other girls you might get with.

Go in a month or two. By then, any STD you may have gotten will be strong enough to show up in the test results.

Why would he care, it's not his fault she lied to him.

Well? If he has assets? A nice lawyer might help her get a slice of them? :)

Because a bitch in that situation will more than likely be stupid enough to keep the kid, regardless of her financial situation or abilaty (inability) to care for a child. Thus, it's highly probable she'll fuck the guy over for stupidly massive amounts of child support.
Which, if she succeeds in getting him to pay (Quite easy considering how biased the justice system is for women in such situations), he'll be paying for the next 18 years or so, and may end up having to be an active part in the childs life.
One night of fun for 18 years of torment and stress just dont seem worth it to me.

Shit man !! That's really fucked up. But how about "The rest of your short life" of torment knowing you're not gonna be able to fuck again/get married/have kids because you just got infected with the HIV !!!! Is unwanted pregnancy really the main issue about unprotected sex? Shit I seriously doubt that....

Re: Bareback with a random: should I get tested?
Wow. Some of you guys are dicks. Of course I know that many common STIs don't always exhibit visible symptoms. I said that I didn't ask her because if she knew about an infection, she would have had it treated. I obviously know that doesn't rule out the possibility of an STI, rather, I was just stating that it would have been pointless to ask her seeing as IF she knew, she'd have had it treated.
She has no reason to lie about taking the pill. She scored 169 on her LSAT this spring. Having a kid now would fuck up her life a hell of a lot more than it would fuck up mine.
Finally, why would I care of the doctor knows me? He's my doctor and he's legally obligated to keep everything I say to him confidential. Thus he's if there's anybody whom I wouldn't care about telling my sexual history to, it would be him.
This is the last time I ever ask for advice in S&A.

Re: Bareback with a random: should I get tested?
Oooh! What a snooty fellow.
Girls with degrees lie just as much as anybody else. Let alone talk of ovulation twice during a cycle is rumored to be not uncommon.
