Solo on the town
So I am kind of tired of my monotonous boring life, and want to spice things up a bit. Basically tomorrow night I am planning to hit the Melbourne (Australia) night life, probably to the Casino and then to a jazz bar, I'm gonna crash at my bros place (he is out of town for a bit) so I can drink and have a bit of fun.
Basically it is a journey of self discovery, just to see what kind of mischief I get up to on my own, and hopefully meet some girls along the way.
Has anyone done similar things, and if so how did it go? Any tips? My social skills have really gone to the shit since I started going to Uni (too much study) so I am hoping this adventure will bring them back. I am probably setting myself up for the shittiest night ever, but hey you only live once right?
I would usually take some mates or something, but I sort of want to see how I go on my own, just to test myself how I go about meeting new people etc. I think i'll probably end up looking like some creepy guy on his own sitting at the bar.
Any advice?

Re: Solo on the town
Did you just read Catcher in the Rye or something?
Anyway, this sounds like a good plan. I do things like this often, but on a smaller scale usually. But yes, I do go to bars alone sometimes, and have had some success meeting people. Other times not so much.
Either way, what do you have to lose?

I live in Canada and have yet to buy a woman ANYTHING.
The quickest way to lose their interest is to give it to them in the first place.

I do this all the time, without the bar though cuz I'm not old enough.
I just get a few beers at this place and ride around calling folks and causing trouble. Last time I stole a couple scooters and passed out in my car.

Re: Solo on the town
Last time I went to a bar alone I had a horrible time.
Mind, it was a very scene club night and it was full of people with their heads right up their arses. And I had just been stood up.
I can't be doing with all these ridiculous mind-games people go on about when giving advice about going out on the pull, but do try not to seem too keen/enthusiastic because it's more likely to come across as creepy if you're by yourself. Though at the same time don't act like an arrogant, aloof knobhead. Nobody likes that.

Re: Solo on the town
Clubbing alone can be difficult.
Last time I went clubbing alone, I felt like an utter twat. Ever tried dancing by yourself with no friends to giggle with?
And then sitting alone. Huh.No one to talk to, nothing to do. I'm just..sitting here watching everyone else talk to all their friends.
Of course, if you're relatively attractive and look alone, you get approached by random and desperate strangers probably as lonely as yourself quite quickly.
Should be fun though, good luck!

I'm hoping on this bit ;) Not sure about the attractive bit, however I am planning to look decent (wear a nice jacket, clean shoes etc.) so it may go down well yet. I might be taking a mate now, not certain. Either way I will report back of my adventures, and thanks for the advice guys.
