I thought it might be interesting for us to sort of check in here and say how things are going.

I am happy to report that all is well with SotD--pretty much troll-free these days. I can't even remember the last time I had to close a thread, and only moved one in the last week--and would have let that one stand had it not been plaigerized. There are a few new and impressive posters, and AF corrects the odd glitch when I'm offline, and Slave is diligent as usual in correcting my rare error of fact. (Got the Hz numbers wrong when posting about brain wave states the other day.)

Yeah it's going really well!
Of course I miss modding GPP and I feel awfull that it was kinda my fault that Tortaton and Rabb dont get to be mods there anymore, they were an asset to the forum.

I've found that OI is one of the friendliest most flame-free forums of totse, when the flames of some other forums get too nasty OI is just really welcoming. Just dont mock someones taste in beer.

S&A,well there's obviously going to be a few people who hate me and try to make my time there unpleasant. But the nice people make up for the twats totally.

Oddly enough, I only ever got hate mail whilst modding SG, perhaps it's just a trend to hate the mods there or something. Now I dont mod there any more These days I only ever get "hey I like you!" and "can you give me some advice please?" "am I banned?" "can you have this poster banned?" "thks 4 the advice? are you single?" type emails, dotted by only the very occaisional
"OMG I HATE U FUCKING DIE POWERTRIPPING MOD BITCH CUNT HORE" type emails.

It's great. :)

Good thread.

STS is fine. Only one or two troll threads within the past month.

Yoyo, I'm pretty damn sure it wasn't your fault, XiP did what he felt he had to do, I still support that decision...On that note I know it looks like I'm nitpicking, but XiP, could you look at this:

https://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=2061686

It's just about died now, but I'm just wondering if you noticed it or not.

That's exactly the sort of thread that put me off GPP.
Just..all these petulant little shits getting nasty about a fucking console. It's daft and just lame.

"OMG HOW DARE YOU HATE A GAME/CONSOLE/COMPANY I DONT! "

Just..fuck you, GPP. Fuck you.

My forums are doing fine. MMM is growing a bit and becoming less childish. T&T is the same. Hello World is flourishing. Cell Mods is still useless.

Today there was an issue with two people posting sources, but for the most part, it's been quiet.

I would like to corroborate this fact. Guess all those subliminal death-threats we sent worked on the trolls, Arms ;)

Conspiracy has experienced calm waters also. I'm sure SoTB would agree.

(Anyone else noticed that -SpectraL isn't as belligerent in those two forums as he used to be? What gives?)

MGCBTSOOYG has a current issue that was brought to the table by mr. ketch, but I don't think the discussion is over yet, so I'm holding out hope on a conflict-free resolution.

Great thread idea, Arms!

S&A is still firmly in the hands of us Brits (Psycho, Yoyo and moi). The Last Bastion against the Ohio-mafia. So if YOU want to live free and spell 'favour' correctly, call autumn autumn and not 'fall' and live in a flat not an apartment then hop onto the last Skateboard of Freedom and join us there.

Okies, seriously things are pretty good, due in no small part to yoyo who has become a major asset and who was described today as the Forum Mother!

Spam is within acceptable limits and I haven't had to hand out many infractions the last few weeks.

The last few weeks I've taken a bit of a back seat in MyGod, partly due to time constraints (my wife's illness) and partly because I wanted to give Angryfemme some space. She's doing a great job and if LC doesn't come back then Angryfemme will keep the forum on track.

Moving Pictures is pretty much always the same. The only thing I could complain about are all of those damned simpsons/family guy/futurama quote threads, but that's not really a problem so much as a personal annoyance. :D

Slight downside, I still get a few "when is sambob being remodded in OI? It doesent feel the same without him" emails. :/
Losing him then Napoleon from OI damaged it a fair amount, it will take awhile to bring traffic back up, I think.

Sambob is none of my buisness, I was more refering to Napolean_complex and how he threw it in due to not having the time to post so much. He's missed.
It'd be cool if you posted there some, you allways put a breath of fresh air into a forum.

Indeed I do.

I think strong and intelligent female mods must intimidate them into good behaviour. :)

(Anyone else noticed that -SpectraL isn't as belligerent in those two forums as he used to be? What gives?)

Yes. I noticed it after "Demonstrate your abilities Mk II". Although a 3 months on the front page, 800+ post long, tag team effort flame would probably knock the sh*t out of me too.

PD also split during that time, consequently the SotD and Conspiracy crowds no longer had to rub shoulders. The allergic reaction they induced in each other came to cease once they were parted. Also several of the old prolific protagonists no longer post (Nepthys Ra, ate)... or have become mods and must now try to behave themselves.

I believe Spectral's attitude reflects those changes.

News of the world and Travelers Travails are are both low traffic forums, but they get their fair share of posts a day. Every now and then some dumbass posts a topic in an attempt to be funny, but I swiftly take care of that and all is well :). Never had any real troubles with either of them.

GPP runs itself. Of course, there will still be the look out for things there that involve piracy or other illegal things. It'd be good to have someone to help me out, but I still cant find a decent mod there.
I'm tempted (but not quite willing) to make some kind of a contest, requesting the users to thoroughly convince me that they would be a fantastic addition to the GPP team. The most convincing emails or whatever that I recieve makes me consider them, maybe.
Then probably make a poll out of that bunch.

You know, there are a few people I have in mind still, but for some reason, something keeps me from choosing them.

XiP, in regards to GPP I'm obviously still more than interested, and for example, if we were to vote for someone (not ourselves), then I'll place my vote with Toraton.

Either way, keep me in the know on what's happening please (presuming I'm on your proverbial shortlist).
